TODAY

Welcome to our service on this last Sunday of our Mission Conference. We gather to say with the psalmist: “O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is they name in all the earth!” and to praise the loving Creator of us all. Be glad and rejoice. We are in God’s house, and all are accepted and welcomed.

This morning Rickey Bolden will speak to us about the work his team is doing with the 859 House in Washington D.C.

Mission Conference Financial Goals: $15,000 to help support our mission trips to El Salvador, Haiti, & Brazil; $7,000 to support Josh & Popy Buning & family as they begin their ministry in Bangladesh; $5,000 to support Rickey Bolden & the 859 House’s mission in Washington D.C.; $3,000 to support local outreach mission projects & small local missions. Total goal - $30,000. If we raise more than our goal, the difference will be donated to World Renew Hurricane Relief. Our regular offering will be the first offering this morning and our Mission Conference offering will be the second offering. Giving options include writing a check or giving cash, text to give, or giving online. have candy, soup, donuts, cider & crafts for the kids. Stop by for the whole time or just to trick or treat for 10 minutes. Judy Gilde will be there taking FREE photos. We are looking for people to decorate and host a table to hand out candy to kids in the community. Sign up on the bulletin board in the fellowship hall if you can help serve in this way!

We will no longer be collecting ink cartridges for recycling. The majority of the items that we are sending to the Funding Factory are not on their list so they have closed our account.

At the Congregational Meeting on Monday night Ben Franklin & Merle Smallegan were elected elders and Derek DeZeeuw & Clark Dykhouse were elected deacons. The budget and the Accountable Leadership Model passed unanimously.

The Regional/International Mission Team will be collecting items for Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. They are in need of the following items: hygiene products, new underwear/socks, soaps and hand cleaners, diapers and baby needs, juices and canned goods. There will be a table set up by the mailboxes.

We are in need of some homemade chicken noodle soup and chili, candy, and apple cider for our annual Fall-O-Ween event! There is a signup sheet on the bulletin board in the fellowship hall.

Middle schoolers & high schoolers: Are you interested in digging deeper into God’s word? Do you want to learn what the Bible says about how to live the Christian life? Middle school, 9th & 10th grade and 11th & 12th grade groups are being formed. We are starting on November 5th. We will meet from 11:00 – 11:45 A.M. Plan on joining us! More details next week.

Reformation Day – 500th Anniversary: The greater McBain area churches are celebrating the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation with a special church service for our community. This service will be held on Sunday, October 29 at 6:00pm in the Elenbaas Performing Arts Center of the McBain High School.

The message will be “Christ Alone” presented by Neal Plantinga, author, speaker and former president of Calvin Theological Seminary. We will be forming a special choir from area schools and churches to sing the Hallelujah Chorus and A Mighty Fortress. If you love to sing, plan on attending the two rehearsals on Saturdays, October 21 and 28, at the Rehoboth Reformed Church in Lucas at 6:30 PM. Everyone is invited to join us for this important celebration!


The 23rd annual Piano & Organ concert/ pick-your-own hymn sing with Saundra Blanchard and Glenn Verbrugge will be held on October 22 at 6:30 p.m. at United Methodist Church, Cadillac. Eleven improvisations will introduce hymns that will then be sung. Then favorite hymns selected by the audience will be sung. An offering will be taken for LOVE In The Name of Christ and Project Christmas.

Singles Fun Night Out!! This is for singles ages 25-39. Saturday, November 4 bowling at 8:00pm (location details coming later)! If enough interested, dinner before at Herriduras at 7:00. Please let Alex Dodde know if you’re planning on going (231-349-2806).

Ruthanne Kamphuis had eye surgery on Tuesday at Zeeland Hospital to make adjustments in the muscle of her eyes. The surgery went well and was successful. She is having some pain in her right eye.
