2015 “MILO” Award

The WLACC membership is asked to submit names to nominate for the 2015 “MILO” Award and the nominee must be from a Chamber member business or organization to be eligible for the award.
The “MILO” Award is named after a long time Chamber volunteer, Milo Halberg who passed away in 2001. Milo served a three-year term on the Board of Directors and was a longstanding member of the Membership Committee until his retirement from “volunteerism” from the Chamber in 1998. During his years of service to the Chamber, Milo personally signed over 100 members for the Chamber, and many times was requested by certain members to have him personally pick-up their membership check as part of our overall retention program.
The award is established in Milo’s name to recognize local business leaders who exemplify Milo’s leadership in the areas of volunteerism, community leadership & involvement, and dedication to the Chamber of Commerce. The “MILO” Award will be presented to a Chamber member who is 40 years or older who has provided leadership and commitment not only to the Chamber, but also to other community organizations and programs as well. The recipient will receive the “MILO” Award and their picture will be featured in our lobby, along with past recipients.
To officially nominate a Chamber member for the “MILO” Award, please complete the following form. All nominations should be submitted in typewritten form with the name of the nominee, his or her background and achievements in 500 words or less.
