I.  Opening Business

·  The meeting was called to order at 5:30pm.

·  The following members were present for the meeting: Brandy Feagan, Deana Cummins, Paradise Forbes, Bryan Winkle, Gina Smith, Kacie Peer, Terri Barton, Adam Coleman, Alicia Johnson, Angel Crump, & Heidi Tien.

·  The February Agenda was approved by consensus.

·  Congratulations to Brett Robbins (Social Studies) and Ryan Price (Language Arts) for advancing to Governors Cup Regional competition.

·  Congratulations to the Cheerleaders for winning 2nd place in the non-mount competition and 6th in the Game Day Cheer at the NKCCA Dance & Cheer Competition at NKU on Saturday!Avery March won a scholarship from NKCCA, and the Varsity squad was recognized for its leadership service for coaching the elementary cheerleaders.

·  Congratulations to the Archery Team on winning 4th place at the Harrison County Competition on 1/30! The team will participate in Regionals on Saturday 2/6, and need to shoot well to advance to state in March! Good luck archers!

·  Congratulations to our students who were county winners in the Grant County Conservation District's Annual Writing Contest! They will be honored at a banquet on March 15th!

II.  Student Achievement

·  The Student Achievement Report was shared and discussed among Council.

III.  School Improvement Planning

·  An update was provided regarding efforts made toward the School Improvement Plans.

IV.  Budget Report

·  All budgets/accounts were reviewed and approved by consensus.

V.  Policy Review

·  Council read and approved the revised Selection of Extracurricular Programs policy. The Program Review Policy received its second reading and approval by Council.

VI.  New Business

·  Council reviewed and approved the FRYSC grant, after a presentation from the FRYSC department.

·  The following field trips were reviewed and approved by consensus.

·  Mrs. Feagan shared with Council that a new instructional assistant was recently hired to assist with Special Education, and that the new employee will begin work on Monday, February 8th. It was also shared that the Agriculture Education teaching position will be filled with a certified long-term substitute teacher for the rest of the school year. The chosen substitute is certified in Agriculture Education and will begin as soon as all background paperwork is complete.

VII.  Upcoming Deadlines

·  March 1—SBDM Will receive tentative staffing allocations from the Board.

·  March 1—Statewide ACT Testing for all 11th grade students

VIII.  Adjournment
