Using EMD Generator

Getting started

Before launching EMD Generator ensure you are signed into Galileo and if using service bureau please ensure you have emulated.

Open the booking you wish to issue an EMD for and launch EMD Generator.

Starting EMD Generator

EMD Generator is started by:

·  In Smartpoint type #EMD

Using the application

Issuing an EMD is a two-step process first you must add an SVC segment and then you issue the EMD.

Adding the SVC(s)

After typing #EMD in Smartpoint the app will load and display any AY or BA segments.

Once the application has loaded the above screen is shown.

·  Select the segment which the EMD will pertain to. This is done by clicking on the segment within the grid.

The selected segment will turn blue indicating it has been selected.

·  Enter the amount of the EMD in the amount box

If the amount is not know this can normally be found in the penalties section of the fare rules.

·  Note: both the RFI and EMD RFI Sub codes are currently pre-set, future versions will allow the selection of codes based on the service being charged.

·  Click on Add SVC to add the SVC (or SVCs for multiple passenger PNRs).

Example above shows the SVC in Smartpoint.

Note: If multiple passengers exist an SVC will be added for each passenger in the booking, each SVC will be added with the amount entered in the amount box.

Issuing EMD(s)

Once the SVC(s) have been entered the application will switch automatically to the Issue EMD tab.

·  Select the SVC by clicking on it in the grid and it will turn blue to indicate it has been selected.

·  Select the correct ticket number from the “Select ticket number” dropdown. If there is only one ticket in the booking this will be automatically selected.

·  Select the options required from the check boxes.

Options
Insert OSI remark

This option automatically inserts the OSI for the carrier as below:

Remove SVC Segment after issue

This option removes the SVC(s) segments after the application has issued the EMD. This option is used to improve the appearance of the itinerary when viewed by the customer if required.

Add DIs Remarks

This option adds the pre-configured DI remarks to the booking file.

Note: Notepads are always automatically added to the booking file if configured.

·  Click the “Issue EMD” button to issue the EMD and the following message box will be displayed following the successful issuing of the EMD.

Please note: for Bookings with multiple passengers an EMD will be issued for each Passenger within the booking.

Configuring DIs and Notepad remarks

You can set up Notepad and DI remarks to meet you own system needs by editing a simple file installed with the application.

The file is installed to the following location by default:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Travelport\Travelport EMDGenerator\XMLs on 64 bit PCs

C:\Program Files\Travelport\Travelport EMDGenerator\XMLs on 32 bit PCs

The file name is: EMDConfiguration.xml

The file by default contains the following entries:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>

userKeys

<keyDI.FT-EMD-%EMDNUMBER%</key

<keyNP.H*%CARRIER%%FLIGHTNUMBER% EMD NUMBER %EMDNUMBER%</key

</userKeys

Additional entries can be made by changing the file and using substitution values

Supported substitution values

Substitutions values are used to allow the creation of DIs and NPs to meet your systems and booking file needs.

%FLIGHTNUMBER%

%EMDNUMBER%

%CARRIER%

%AMOUNT%

%DATE%

%DESTINATION%

%ORIGIN%

%RFICODE%

%RFISUBCODE%

For example

userKeys

<keyDI.FT-EMD-%EMDNUMBER%</key

<KeyDI.FT- EMD AMOUNT %AMOUNT%</Key

<keyNP.H*%CARRIER%%FLIGHTNUMBER% EMD NUMBER %EMDNUMBER%</key

</userKeys

The above file will add an additional DI and substitute the %AMOUNT% with the value of the EMD amount.

Note: DIs and the NPs are added for each EMD generated by the application.
