4:00-Winter Benchmark Scores

We took a look at Winter Benchmark scores in Math and Reading.

4:10- Enrollment Update and School Choice Status

Enrollment is looking healthy. We get our FTE for next year based on current enrollment. We will have three teachers at every grade level according to our current FTE for next year. We are not able to let any Kindergarten students into Willagillespie for school choice because we are not sure of the number of students who will be enrolled for fall. The staffing plan is due March 15th. Right now we are projected to have 63 kindergarten students for next year. Last year we were projected at 533. We had staffing for 19 classrooms and then we received 1 more to make our 3rd grade class sizes smaller. This year we are projected at 496 and we have staffing for 19 classrooms.

4:20- Free and Reduced lunch Update

We had 53% of our students on FRL in 16/17 and 43% in 17/18. This means that we will have less money for our Title I program. The Federal budget has been reduced by 8% each year for the past few years, which gives our district less money every year.

4:30- Title I Goal Setting Implications

Our FRL numbers have dropped. If our numbers continue drop it is possible that we would lose the Title I program at our school. The Staff Council was set to re-evaluate goals and look at going to School Wide but because of the drop in FRL we are not going to look at that this spring.

4:45- Artist In Residence

Teachers and students are really enjoying having the Artist in Residence at our school. It costs about $2000-$5000 per artist. This year we were gifted 2 out of the 3 Artists.

4:50- Close

We have two more Site Council Meetings this year: April and May.
