Wildflower Seed Planting Instructions

  1. Choose an area that gets 6 or more hours of sun a day.
  2. Prepare the soil: Remove other growth and rake the soil flat.
  3. Press the seeds into the ground, but do not bury them with soil. You can do this by walking on them.
  4. Water the soil so that it is moist but not soaked. Once the plants are 4–6 inches tall, you can let them get water from rainfall. If there is a drought, water occasionally.

  1. Prepare the land. Remove some or all of the grass and weeds and rake the soil.
  1. Choose a sunny location.
  2. Scatter the seeds on top of the soil.
  3. Press the seeds into the soil by walking on them. Do not cover them with soil.
  4. Water the area for 4–6 weeks or until the plants are well established.
  5. Remove dead flower heads in the fall and fill in empty space with more seeds.
