There is some mobile phone coverage at the trial site but up the road 100 meters it’s better.

“Wildalpen” is a full functioning RED DEER Farm hence the 2.4 meter high fences. At 2300 feet altitude the temperatures are cooler than you’d expect – bring a good jumper! I have two large 50 ton grain silos at my front gate. Travel past my house approx 150 meters (bitumen road) and on the left there is a sign “GRID” There is a new gravelled drive way on the left at the sign. Our camping ground is only 50 meters off the road.

  • Access is very good & open to all types of vehicles.
  • Big level camping ground which is kept mowed.
  • Toilet on site.
  • Plenty of Fire wood.
  • Flat plate gas BBQ.
  • Plenty of drinking water.
  • For those of you that can’t live without a hot shower we can also arrange that. Close by is my house (100 meters) plus just across the road from the camping area is our deer handling complex which has shower, toilet & washing facilities.

All sections will be no more than 125meters from your car. The trials area is dense rain forest where you don’t see much of the sun! We’ve made access into a rocky creek bed which is wet & mossy all year round. Winter being our “dry season” you’ll have some chance of riding it! For the kids we have some real easy stuff only a stones throw from the camping area.

From Brisbane head north along the freeway for approx. 25 minutes and turn off at either of the 2 exits for Caboolture. Then on to Wamuran and Woodford. To use the bitumen road travel 4 k out of Woodford and turnright at the Beerwah turn off.

BITUMEN ROAD, VIA THE BELLTHORPE RANGE ROAD.

There are some road restrictions during week days to allow for the school bus to travel.

From the Beerwah turn off travel approx. 6.5 k then turn left – sign says “Bellthorpe” From here you are climbing up the range veering left the whole way. At the top of the range the options are right to Maleny or left to Bellthorpe. Turn left and come along another 7k.

Our house is on the right with two 50 tonne silos at the front gate. Bellthorpe is not a town so don’t expect shops!

DIRT ROAD ( STONEY CREEK ROAD )

The dirt road is useable in almost all weather conditions and used frequently by the logging trucks. The first 4 klms is bitumen, you veer left over a cement crossing and then it’s dirt from there on. You will pass a turn to your right at about 10 klms signed “Branch Creek” This is a logging access only. Not far on you will pass another logging access road to the left signed “Beacon Road”. Soon now you will come to a well used intersection at approx. 13 klms after turning off the Kilcoy Woodford Road. Turn right, it’s signed “Bellthorpe West Road”. Soon after turning right you will soon come onto our deer fence on your left. Our deer yards are approx. 4 klms on the left. If you miss the right turn you’ll end up at BELLTHORPE WEST, an old sawmilling town.

FROM MALENY:

Turn left at the Maleny Police station “Stanley River Road” and head out past the show grounds. At approx. 7 klms out “Mear’s lane” (Bitumen road) swings off to the right. This road is known as the “Gap Road”. Take this turn and follow on. Goes down a steep descent then up the other side (The Gap) The next intersection you come to will be signed left to Woodford or straight on to Bellthorpe.

You go straight ahead and in 1 kilo you get to the Bellthorpe Hall. Then head on as above.
