Wi-Fi Fresnel Dracast App Instructions

For bi-color lights, the color adjustment knob can act as a button that you can press. For daylight lights, it is the intensity knob.

Here are some instructions for getting the app to sync up with the WiFi signal from the Dracast Pro Series Fresnel light (WiFi version):

(please read through the instructions a few times before trying to make this work)

  1. Make sure the Dracast app has been both downloaded, and installed.
  2. Check to make sure it opens.
  3. On your phone, turn off your WiFi.
  4. Turn on the Fresnel light, if it is not already on.
  5. Make sure the WiFi dongle (USB flash-drive type) is inserted into the light. There should be a red indicator light on the end of the dongle that will most likely be blinking slowly, with two or three seconds between blinks, but it may be on solid.
  6. Press and hold the color knob (on daylight units, it will be the intensity or brightness knob) until the dongle's indicator light flickers . . . . . KEEP HOLDING THE KNOB DOWN -- DON'T LET IT GO YET
  7. There will be a pause of just a few seconds, and the indicator light will flicker a SECOND time.
  8. NOW let go of the button.
  9. The dongle indicator light should go back to slowly blinking.
  10. Turn on the WiFi on your phone.
  11. Look for a WiFi signal that starts with "LED..." (see top of Figure 1).
  12. Connect to that signal -- the password is "candlehome."
  13. On some phones, you will not have to make any other selections, and can go on to open the app itself.
  14. On other phones (such as the Moto G5Plus), you may have to confirm that you want to connect to this WiFi signal, because there will be no internet access.
  15. Open the Dracast app. The first screen should look like Figure 2.

  1. When you tap on “Click to Experience,” it should give you a screen similar to Figure 3.
  2. Click on the light you want to control. It should bring you to a screen that looks like Figure 4.
  3. When you tap on the blue power icon in the top right corner, the light will go on and off.
  4. When you tap within the colored circle (for bi-color lights), the color temperature will change depending on where you tap on the screen. In Figure 4, you can see a small circle over in the blue section. In Figure 5, you can see the small circle is now in the yellow/orange area, and the color temperature is now at 3600K.
  5. For the bi-color version there are four preset colors (although two of them are just about the same), and for the daylight version there are four preset brightness levels.
