ISAIAH, Pt 2 Lesson 8

When MESSIAH, The Anointed One Comes

Messiah- Christ

John 1:41
41He found first his own brother Simon and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which translated means Christ).

Luke 4:13-21
13When the devil had finished every temptation, he left Him until an opportune time.14And Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about Him spread through all the surrounding district.15And He began teaching in their synagogues and was praised by all.16And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up; and as was His custom, He entered the synagogue on the Sabbath, and stood up to read.17And the book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. And He opened the book and found the place where it was written,18“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaimrelease to the captives, And recovery of sight to the blind, To setfree those who are oppressed,19To proclaim the favorableyear of the Lord.”20And He closed the book, gave it back to the attendant and sat down; and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on Him.21And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”

Vengeance

Isaiah 34:8
8For the Lord has a day of vengeance, A year of recompense for the cause of Zion.

Isaiah 35:4
4Say to those with anxious heart, “Take courage, fear not. Behold, your God will come with vengeance; The recompense of God will come, But He will save you.”

Who Brings Salvation

Revelation 14:14-20
14Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and sitting on the cloud was one like a son of man, having a golden crown on His head and a sharp sickle in His hand.15And another angel came out of the temple, crying out with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, “Put in your sickle and reap, for the hour to reap has come, because the harvest of the earth is ripe.”16Then He who sat on the cloud swung His sickle over the earth, and the earth was reaped.17And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, and he also had a sharp sickle.18Then another angel, the one who has power over fire, came out from the altar; and he called with a loud voice to him who had the sharp sickle, saying, “Put in your sharp sickle and gather the clusters from the vine of the earth, because her grapes are ripe.”19So the angel swung his sickle to the earth and gathered the clusters from the vine of the earth, and threw them into the great wine press of the wrath of God.20And the wine press was trodden outside the city, and blood came out from the wine press, up to the horses’ bridles, for a distance of two hundred miles.

Revelation 19:11-16
11And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war.12His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems; and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself.13He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.14And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses.15From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty.16And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”

Revelation 16:12-16
12The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river, the Euphrates; and its water was dried up, so that the way would be prepared for the kings from the east.13And I saw coming out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits like frogs;14for they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them together for the war of the great day of God, the Almighty.15(“Behold, I am coming like a thief. Blessed is the one who stays awake and keeps his clothes, so that he will not walk about naked and men will not see his shame.”)16And they gathered them together to the place which in Hebrew is called Har-Magedon.

Armies Gather for Day of Vengeance

Joel 3:9-17
9Proclaim this among the nations: Prepare a war; rouse the mighty men! Let all the soldiers draw near, let them come up!10Beat your plowshares into swords And your pruning hooks into spears; Let the weak say, “I am a mighty man.”11Hasten and come, all you surrounding nations, And gather yourselves there. Bring down, O Lord, Your mighty ones.12Let the nations be aroused And come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat, For there I will sit to judge All the surrounding nations.13Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, tread, for the wine press is full; The vats overflow, for their wickedness is great.14Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.15The sun and moon grow dark And the stars lose their brightness.16The Lord roars from Zion And utters His voice from Jerusalem, And the heavens and the earth tremble. But the Lord is a refuge for His people And a stronghold to the sons of Israel.17Then you will know that I am the Lord your God, Dwelling in Zion, My holy mountain. So Jerusalem will be holy, And strangers will pass through it no more.

Zechariah 14:1-5
1Behold, a day is coming for the Lord when the spoil taken from you will be divided among you.2For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city will be captured, the houses plundered, the women ravished and half of the city exiled, but the rest of the people will not be cut off from the city.3Then the Lord will go forth and fight against those nations, as when He fights on a day of battle.4In that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which is in front of Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives will be split in its middle from east to west by a very large valley, so that half of the mountain will move toward the north and the other half toward the south.5You will flee by the valley of My mountains, for the valley of the mountains will reach to Azel; yes, you will flee just as you fled before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the Lord, my God, will come, and all the holy ones with Him!

Zechariah 14:9
9And the Lord will be king over all the earth; in that day the Lord will be the only one, and His name the only one.

Zechariah 14:14-19
14Judah also will fight at Jerusalem; and the wealth of all the surrounding nations will be gathered, gold and silver and garments in great abundance.15So also like this plague will be the plague on the horse, the mule, the camel, the donkey and all the cattle that will be in those camps.16Then it will come about that any who are left of all the nations that went against Jerusalem will go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to celebrate the Feast of Booths.17And it will be that whichever of the families of the earth does not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, there will be no rain on them.18If the family of Egypt does not go up or enter, then no rain will fall on them; it will be the plague with which the Lord smites the nations who do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Booths.19This will be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all the nations who do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Booths.
