Program Plan: (40 points) Complete a full program plan. This plan will contain a list of all the courses required to receive your degree in Mathematics Education. You will find the MAP (Master Academic Plan) for a BA in Mathematics Education helpful. For those classes you have already taken you will record when you took it and the grade your received. For those classes you have yet to take you will record when you will take it. If you wish to include courses you have taken or will take outside those for the major, please highlight the major courses so they stand out from the rest.
Attach a copy of your Progress Report (ABC Report) to a draft of your program plan and meet with Dr. Jackie Voyles, the undergraduate coordinator for the Department of Mathematics Education. A sign-up sheet for appointments will be passed around in class. Here is Dr. Voyles' contact information:
Jackie Voyles (), 256 TMCB, 422-3640
Dr. Voyles will go over your program plan, give you feedback and suggestions, and then sign your draft. Update this draft based on her suggestions. Hand in (1) the draft, (2) the update and (3) the ABC report (in that order, please).
In addition to fulfilling the requirements for your degree in Mathematics Education, there are many other things you can do personally to prepare yourself to teach mathematics. Write one-paragraph responses to each of the following questions. Answering these questions will, in essence, lay out short and long-term goals for your own personal professional development as a teacher.
· What will I do personally (outside of classes) this semester to prepare myself to be a mathematics teacher?
· What will I do personally (outside of classes) before I graduate to prepare myself to be a mathematics teacher?
