What we mean by these terms

Passionate

The staff at Time for Kids are motivated. We care about what we do and have the drive and energy required to achieve it. We are committed to building bright futures for the children we work with. We seek to grow our learning and knowledge to ensure we do the best work that we can. We are open and take opportunities for fun, celebration and joy.

We do not allow our passion to cloud our judgement or justify a blindness to reason. We recognise that we are one part of a greater whole, and do not pretend that we have all the answers. With our passion comes humility, compassion and understanding.

Supportive

We believe that supportive teams are ones that communicate well. We revel in our diversity and recognise that our differences, each of our unique talents, make us stronger as a team. We are appreciative and approachable. Our work is often challenging and can be emotionally unsettling; we take care of each other through the tough times.

We recognise that a genuinely supportive environment is also one that is accountable and helps individuals to learn and grow. It recognises that colleagues have a responsibility to each other to shoulder their fair share. Bad behaviour doesn’t have a home here. We commit to creating a safe environment in which colleagues can share their views and hear each other with respect and trust. We always start from a position of love.

Pursuing Excellence

We strive to achieve the greatest impact that we can for our children. This means that we are rigorous in how we spend our scarce resources and focussed on efficiency, creativity, innovation and improvement. We are transparent, honest and accountable in all of our dealings; we understand that the resources we receive are intended to better the lives of our children and we spend them accordingly.

We are dedicated to professionalism and bring the most current and informed thinking to our work. We openly question and challenge ourselves. We reflect and we learn. We remember that with mistakes come learning and we value the opportunity that brings. We get that everyone has a bad day once in a while and we do not expect perfection but we do expect best efforts, consistently.
