WHAT TO BRING / WHAT NOT TO BRING

WHY A PACKING GUIDE?

The purpose of this guide is to help you make decisions in packing for when you are serving on camp staff. We will review & have time to discuss the “spirit” behind these guidelines during Summer Orientation. Listed are items you will NEED to bring, items that you are ALLOWED to bring if you desire, and things you should NOT bring to camp. WHAT TO BRING - STUFF YOU WILL NEED (this is not an exhaustive list . . . )

 Alarm Clock & Watch

 T-shirts / Shirts

 Jeans / Pants

 Shorts (at least mid-thigh length & modest)

 Undergarments

 Sweatshirt / Fleece / Sweater (a warm layer)

 Coat &/or Rain Coat (a waterproof layer)

 Footwear - Close-toed shoes/sneakers, boots, & sandals

 Bathing Suit (Guys- mid-thigh length, Girls - no bikinis, bare midriffs, high cut legs, low-cut front)

 Personal Toiletries (whatever keeps you smellin’ good & lookin’ pretty!)

 Bible, Notebook, Pen/Pencil

 Flashlight

 Personal Medication (if you take any)

 Laundry Soap(if you plan to do laundry at camp)

WHAT TO BRING - STUFF YOU ARE ALLOWED TO BRING

 Bike, skateboard, roller blades, scooter - or other unmotorized transportation device.

 Personal Snacks / Drinks - store in your housing unit.

 CD / MP3 Player- only bring music that edifies

 Laptop computer- for word processing, music, personal study usageONLY!(No Games, No Movies)

 Cell Phone –cannot use during work hours for voice/data/text without permission.

 Personal Recreation Gear -fishing pole & tackle, sports equipment, snorkel/mask, etc.

Musical Instruments

 Personal Comfort Items- Bug Spray, Box or Oscillating Fan, Sun-screen, JapaneseWaterGarden, etc.

WHAT NOT TO BRING

 Firearms (BB guns, rifles, shotguns, handguns, grenade launchers, etc.)

 Fireworks (firecrackers, bottle rockets, mortars, etc.)

 Controlled Substances (Alcohol, tobacco products, illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, etc.)

 Motorized Recreational Vehicles (ATVs, motorcycles, snowmobiles, motorboats, etc.)

 TV, VCR/DVD player, Video Games.

 Clothing with potentially offensive slogans or topics depicted on them.

 Clothing that is tight fitting, immodest, &/or exposes undergarments.

“If it’s TIGHT, SHORT, or REVEALING . . . don’t wear it at camp.”
