WHAT’S UP IN 3RD GRADE?

We are at the end of our first marking period. It was pleasure conferencing with parents this past week or so. Report Cards will go home on Wednesday, November 11th. Please fill out the form at the bottom of the comment sheet and return it in the envelope. Second Nine Weeks Course Syllabus will be posted on our 3rd grade webpage.

In Social Studies, the students have been researching cultures for American Education Week. Please assist your child with finding pictures about your family’s culture. Over the next week your 3rd grader will be writing paragraphs about their cultures geography, traditions, dress and food. This will be presented on a poster that they make at school.

I hope you can join us for our trip around the world on Wednesday, November 18th directly following the morning announcements from 9:30 – 10:30.

In science, we have just wrapped up our unit on matter and the water cycle.

In math, the students are working on counting and comparing money, as well as determining what change they would get back from a purchase. Please have your child continue to practice their addition and subtraction facts for speed and accuracy on Reflex.com so that they can move on to multiplications facts asap. Further reading and Math instruction can be found on I-Ready where students can complete lessons and earn extra tickets at school if you write that they completed this in their agenda!
