  • Provides enhancements to version 6.2 printed validation worksheets and sample reports
  • Sub-Sample Reports (although displayed in the Data Element Validation Sub-Sample menu) are not operational

LX

  • Implements the new PY06 Average Earnings measure on the 9002 C and D and VETS 200 reports, and the new performance outcome groups corresponding to the change in the earnings measure
  • Corrects the 9002D Entered Employment Following Staff-Assisted Services numerator, denominator, and rate to exclude self-service exiters who are veterans from the calculation

Important Note: States that used DRVS 6.2 to draw their WIA data element validation sample can upgrade to DRVS 6.3 without losing the sample by following the steps listed below. Failure to follow these steps could cause states to lose their sample and sample results. States would then have to draw a new sample and re-start the validation process. This patch is only intended to upgrade the WIA sample database. It does not upgrade LX databases, and it does not upgrade all the calculations for the WIA Annual report.

All states follow steps 1 through 4 to retain the 6.2 database during the 6.3 upgrade process. Subsequent steps are specified for MSDE and SQL users, respectively:

1. Backup DRVS 6.2 database. To do so, open DRVS 6.2, go to File--Save As, assign a name for the backup database, and click Save. The default location for DRVS databases is C:\ProgramFiles\DRVS\User Data

2. Uninstall DRVS 6.2 through Control Panel--Add/Remove Programs

3. Download DRVS 6.3 from ETA's website http://www.doleta.gov/performance/reporting/tools_datavalidation.cfm

4. Install DRVS 6.3. Select "I DO NOT want to create a DRVS database" option when the screen "Do you want to install the DRVS database?" displays

Subsequent Steps for MSDE Users:

5. Download the upgrade patch from the ETA website listed above, and save the patch to C:\drive

6. Go to Start>Run

7. In the space provided type:

osql -E -i "C:\Build6.3.sql" -o "C:\MyOutput.rpt"

Subsequent Steps for Users with Enterprise Manager:

5. Download the upgrade patch from the ETA website listed above, and save the patch to a known location

6. Open Enterprise Manager (Programs--Microsoft SQL Server--Enterprise Manager)

7. Under the Console Root folder, expand Microsoft SQL Servers by clicking on the “+” sign

8. Expand the SQL Server Group in the same manner

9. Expand the SQL Server Name in use by clicking on the “+” sign

10. Expand the Databases folder in the same manner

11. Then click on WIADB

12. In WIADB, click on the Tools menu on the top and select SQL Query Analyzer

13. Click on the Open folder and browse for the patch

14. Click open to open the patch

15. Click on the green arrow to run the stored procedure

16. When the procedure is finished running, close Enterprise Manager
