DNOW2018 INFORMATION

What is D-Now?

Overly simplified: It is a conference mixed with a student exchange program. D-Now is short for “Disciple Now.” For this event students will be put into groups of 4-6 teens (of the same gender) and assigned a “host home” to stay in for the weekend. They will then participate in games, worship, Bible Studies and more (plus time to hangout and get to know each other). This event is a joint venture with 10-15 other area churches where we will join with about 300 students from around the Wendell/Knightdale/Zebulon/Bunn/Raleigh community for worship, ministry opportunities and more!

WHAT IS THE THEME THIS YEAR? WHO IS THE SPEAKER?

The theme for the weekend is simply “ONE” and will focus on unity amongst the body of Christ as declared in Ephesians 4:1-6. Our speaker this year is Pastor Eddie Briery from Shreveport, Louisiana and we will be led in worship by Jeremy and Kat Robertson and an all-star team of BeDoTell Band Members.

What will students DO during the weekend?

Students will stay with other teens of the same gender and HSM leaders in host homes, participate in various activities and games, Bible studies, discussions, worship gatherings and more. It is a high energy and powerful weekend that will not soon be forgotten!

Who can go to D-Now?Students in grades 5-12.

How much does it cost? What does that cover?

The total cost for this weekend is only $50! It covers all of your food, lodging, transportation, materials, admission, and tee-shirt. Note: A significant portion of this weekend’s experience is being covered by Host Families who will provide transportation, preparation of meals, lodging and snacks for participants (so make sure you thank them!!).

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF DNOW?

The focus is fourfold: (1)to build new relationships between our teens and church families (this unifies us as a church; the free time, family time, staying together and learning together will help this), (2) for students to build stronger relationships between themselves (unity within our youth ministry), (3) for our church to build stronger relationships with others churches (teens with other teens, adults with other church adults, etc.), (4) challenge students to examine their lives, foundations and to reposition themselves before Jesus.

Can my friends come?

Absolutely! All friends who come (in particular those new to Hephzibah) will be grouped with the student who brought them.

Who will transport my teens for this weekend event?

Students will be driven to and from Host homes and other destinations by the Host Family to whom they are assigned.

What are the sleeping arrangements?

Students will sleep at the Host Families homes (they will be assigned a family for the weekend and will stay there). The host families are members of Hephzibah Baptist Church. Students will be assigned homes based on gender and grade. Depending on the house they are assigned and what that family has available, students will either sleep in beds or on the living room floor (most likely the floor).

What time does it start and end?

START: Meet at Hephzibah Baptist Church Friday, March 23rd at 5:30pm with your stuff for the weekend (we will give you a “what to bring” list later).

END: We will end Sunday, March 25thafter the morning service (approximately 12:15pm). Your parents/family are encouraged to come to the morning Small Group class and service with you so they can hear about the weekend during the service.
