What is the Maryland Children’s Health Program?

The Maryland Children’s Health Program provides health insurance coverage for children up to age 19, and pregnant women of any age residing in Cecil County and the State of Maryland.

Who is eligible for the program?

·  Children under the age of 19 who are not eligible for Medicaid;

·  Pregnant women of any age;

·  Income guidelines in the program are to 250% of Federal Poverty Level for pregnant women. Family income guidelines for Children up to age 19 are up to 285% of Federal Poverty Level. Coverage for children in higher income levels may be provided through the MCHP Premium Program for a low monthly family premium.

·  Uninsured (NOTE: Even if you have health insurance you may still want to apply for MCHP. In some cases, having health insurance does not prevent eligibility for MCHP.)
