Project Expectations

What is required on your project and when…

Your SAE Project Record Book is designed to help you maintain records on your Supervised Agriculture Experience. This project is required of all students enrolled in agriculture education. The total number of hours you are required to log varies depending on the level of class you are enrolled in. Your project must be approved by your teacher before you begin keeping records. Please note that SAE grades are equivalent to 3 test grades. If your project is turned in after the due date, then you will receive partial credit for your work.

First Nine Weeks due: October 23rd

·  Formal SAE Presentation- A short [2-5] minute presentation in front of class telling about your project and records. You must include a visual aid [PowerPoint, animal or object you made or a Display board] for your project.

SAE Extra Credit Opportunities due: __January 8th _____

Students can earn up to 15 extra credit points on their SAE by completing the following activities. Students who wish to seek Proficiency Awards through the FFA program should complete all of the following.

Minimum Time Requirements by the End of the Semester:

Intro to Ag [15 hours],

Eq 1, Hort 1 & ANS 1 [25 hours],

Eq 2, ANS 2 & Hort 2 [30 hours]

Students are to log all hours invested (even if it is above the minimimum.) If it is a daily/routine procedure, students can list the activity once and total their hours completing that task- ie, if a student is taking care of their horse and it takes 30 mins a day to feed them the student make note of that and times the 30 mins by the number of days to get their total time for that component.
