Application pack for funding requests from the Freasdail Community Fund

The West Kintyre Community Fund is the administrator of funds received from Freasdail Wind Farm, Whitehouse. The funds received are ringfenced for application requests received from residents, groups or associations residing in or operating within the West Kintyre Community Council area which covers the villages in West Kintyre from Whitehouse in the North to Kilkenzie in the South, inclusive.

Applications will be considered for:

Bursaries – Applications will be considered from persons under the age of 50 years and residing in the West Kintyre Community Council Area who wish to undertake a first degree, further education college course or recognized apprentiships. These bursaries will be for £1000 per annum each and awarded for a maximum of 4 years (dependent on the length of course). Go to section One.

Help with business start-up costs – Applications will be considered for those persons residing in the West Kintyre Community Council Area who wish to start up a new business within the West Kintyre Area. Go to section two.

Help with funding of projects within the West Kintyre Area for groups and associations operating within the West Kintyre Community Council Area – assistance with funding projects being undertaken by such groups who have both a constitution and bank account. Go to section three.

The application process is a two-part process which consists of:

the application forms.
a short interview usually taking part about three weeks after the closing dateshown on the application form with members of the trust and where the applicant will be asked to;

in the case of a bursary application – give a short presentation of why the applicant has chosen the course applied for and what they hope to undertake career wise once the qualification is obtained.
in the case of a business start-up grant – why they have chosen this business and how they see the business developing over the first five years.
in the case of a project by groups/associations – how such a project will help their group/association continue to develop and assist the wider community of West Kintyre.

Applications should be returned to the above address by Saturday 21st July 2018complete with all supporting documentation requested and will be considered by the fund managers at their meeting of ……TBA……….

All applicants will be informed of the venue and time of this meeting and should arrange to attend this meeting to give their presentation and answer any questions panel members may have.
