Move your mighty company
For the church of God
Brothers, we are treading
Where Prester John has trod
We are pledged to save souls
Not to search for gold
To spread hope and doctrine and
Not be bought and sold
Onward, Nicco's soldiers
Marching as to war
To repel the evil
Which we all abhor / Crownsandthronesmaybicker
Kingdoms rise and wane
The Eastern church is falling Rome alone must reign
Gates of hell don't scare me
So don't think you can
I need arms and money too
From each and every man
Onward, Nicco's soldiers
Marching as to war
To repel the Sultan
Whom we all abhor
Godscalc

and his side of the congregation
Onward then, young Nicco
With your motley gang
Let's just tell that Sultan
He can go and hang
Glory, land, and honour
Aren't for you to keep
Just work hard to win them so
That God the spoils will reap
Onward, Nicco's soldiers
Marching as to war
To repel the evil
Which we all abhor / To repel the Sultan
Whom we all abhor

Thanks also to Heather Fletcher, Diana Crane, Henk Beentje, Jo Kirkham, and the Gilbert & Sullivan Archive (
Apologies and thanksApologies to Anselm Adorne, Umar, Zacco & Carlotta, Primaflora, Alessandra, Margot, Mabelie, Martin, Anselm Sersanders, Pael Benecke, Elzbiete, Tommaso Portinari, Lucia Vasquez, Catherine, Tilde and Felix Charetty and to all the other fantastic characters that we just didn't have the time or the talent to include.
We'd really like to thank our fantastic cast for the enormous hard work and effort that they have put into this production. Preparing such an operation (especially one involving music) with people from 4 continents is no easy task. The cast have put up with being bullied and nagged mercilessly, and have stuck it all! Thanks guys.
And finally, thanks to Lady Dunnett for letting us perform an utter travesty of her works!

VIDEO NOTE
Enormous thanks are due to the Videographers (listed above) and also Marc Line and Rachel Mallows who undertook the production of the video master tape and the cover reproduction. Thanks also to Carol Wendland who provided most of the cover photos. Other people also contributed cover photos - thanks to them too.
Some people have asked for a printed script. I'm not selling these by post, but you can find the Edinburgh Script, the Philadelphia Script, the backing music, the vocal score, and other Nikado stuff at Videos of the Philadelphia Nikado (which is a little different from the Edinburgh one) will be shipping in December 2000 and details will be posted to
