Stoke Gabriel Fc Youth Football Section Season 2017/2018

Dear Parents

The Youth Section has continued to build on the success of previous seasons such that the long-term future of the club is sound. There is a genuine opportunity for all youngsters to progress through all youth levels and on into the senior football. Minimum age for entry of new members will be six years old by the 1st September 2017, and to ensure adequate supervision and control it is essential that boys/girls attend only the age group session allocated to their date of birth.

PARENT SUPPORT IS ESSENTIAL TO ENSURE THAT OUR CURRENT SUCCESS CONTINUES

NB: Parents/guardians are responsible for their boys/girls delivery to and from the training area. It is suggested that boys/girls should bring a change of clothing and a towel. Parents are also requested to check beforehand to see if training is going to take place should inclement weather arise. Managers/Trainers must not be left in the position of sole responsibility for children when others have gone home, especially if we are to comply with Child Protection Regulations.

PLEASE NOTE:- IT IS AN F.A. RULING THAT ALL PLAYERS MUST WEAR SHIN PADS AT ALL MATCHES AND TRAINING SESSIONS, BEFORE THEY ARE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE.

ADMINISTRATION/PARENT SUPPORT

Stoke Gabriel Football Club is now one of the largest youth set-ups in this area and is consequently a major organisational challenge. There is an urgent need for parents to support the club or assist in fundraising activities.

PLAYER’S FINES

Please note that any players that receive fines from the League arising from dissent to match officials or violent conduct, will be liable for the payment of those fines.

INSURANCE

Though the club takes out insurance cover for all members for capital benefits (permanent damage), some parents might wish to take out private insurance for any alternative cover that they require. The managers and coaches take all reasonable care with the children in their charge but do not wish to be liable in the event of an accident. It will therefore be necessary for you to sign a disclaimer before your son/daughter can participate in weekly sessions. All managers/coaches will have attended, or will attend an FA child protection course.

CHILD PROTECTION

The club employs a strict child protection policy. Any queries can be made direct to the team manager or through the Child Welfare Officer, Michael Calf 07771 265930.

FA RESPECT CAMPAIGN

Please note that it is a requirement that all Clubs adhere to the FA’s Respect campaign for the forthcoming season. This will mean that all spectators at matches will have to remain behind a line/barrier that is at least 1m from the touchline on one side of the pitch only, with coaches/managers on the opposite side. No spectators are to stand at the end of the pitch. The campaign is aimed at removing abuse of players and match officials from the game and the pressurisation of players by coaches/managers and parents. Please help us to maintain the Club’s reputation by recognising and applauding good play and sportsmanship regardless of whether it comes from the home or away side. Further information can be found on the FA website at www.thefa.com/respect .

FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE

All parents can support the Youth Section by Fundraising. Please indicate on the attached form if you are prepared to assist in helping the club expand and maintain its facilities.

SPONSORSHIP

The Youth Football section is expanding rapidly and urgently needs sponsors for kit/equipment, seven-a-side goals and particularly practice balls. If you can assist, or know of a likely source, would you kindly advise the chairman if you have any contacts?

www.stokegabrielfc.co.uk

The club operates a successful website that is for the benefit of all associated with the club. The site is updated on a regular basis with information and news about football and fundraising activities.

Managers, coaches and parents are encouraged to use the site and have anything they consider a benefit to the club displayed. Match reports and images of games (action shots) are uploaded throughout the season; this is achieved by managers/coaches contacting the website with appropriate information.

CONCLUSION

From past experience I know that it is possible to attract large numbers of children at an early age and develop them into teams for the future. If we are to remain successful the support and enthusiasm of the parents is vital, especially during coaching sessions, matches, and supporting fundraising events.
