Welsh Week – Open Afternoon

Thank you to everyone who came along on Monday 9th March to view theentries that wereon display. The standard was extremely high and the children put a huge amount of effort into the work. Well done everyone!

School Council ~ ‘Red Nose’ Activities

A Big thank you to everyone who participated in the “Red Nose” activities this week – we had a lot of fun and managed to raise the terrific total of £500 for Comic Relief which as a fantastic result!

Tempest “Vista” photographs

We have invited Tempest photography to come into school on Wednesday 25th March to take photographs of the children in Reception and Year 6 only. These are full-length photographs so can parents please ensure that their child’s uniform complies with school guidelines and children wear plain dark socks on that day. This will help with the overall appearance of the photograph.

Breakfast Club

A reminder that Breakfast Club starts at 07.50 a.m. and we serve breakfast until 8.30 a.m. The doors are locked at 08.30 a.m. Can parents please make sure that they bring their child to the door at the back of the hall please and not drop them off at the front school gates. This is so we can ensure the safety of the children and to make sure they are accounted for once in our care.

Ty Mawr Trip for Class JL

A reminder that as part of the curriculum on River Studies Mrs Lewis’ class will be going on a Field Trip to Ty Mawr Education Centre next Thursday 19th March. If you have not already done so, please send in your contribution of £8.00 by next Monday 16th March.

Great Daffodil Appeal

A reminder that we are stillselling Marie Curie daffodils in school. The appeal funds help to nurse people with a terminal cancer and other illnesses at home, and the charity suggests a minimum of £1 donation. If you wish your child to purchase a daffodil, please send the money into school with them.

Fluorescent Safety Jackets

Please can the safety jacket your child has been using, be washed and returned to your child’s class teacher by Friday 20th March. A charge of £3.00 will be made for ALL bibs not returned after this date.

Friends of Maes-y-Llan

Non Uniform Day – Friday 20th March- we are asking for chocolate donations for the Bingo please.

Easter Bingo-Thursday 26th March. Doors open at 6.00 p.m. and eyes down at 6.30 p.m.

Easter Competitions - Friday 27th March 2015

Easter Hat Competition for Nursery children only. Children are invited to make an Easter Hat at home and wear/bring it along to school on the day.

Egg Rolling Competition – Reception through to Year 6 children. Each child should bring along a decorated hard-boiled egg for rolling on the yard. There will be prizes for both competitions and entry is free!
