Introduction:Due to time frame, taken out today.

Business:

  1. Student Organization Night Sign Up
  2. Set up is from 6:00-7:00 tomorrow, Friday 29th. Taylor has agreed to be there from 7-9. Kiersten will be there from 7-8 and Michael will be there from 8-9.
  3. Ad Hoc Committees
  4. Diversity-Julie will be in charge of this committee.
  5. 100th anniversary-Membership committee (Meredith) and Kiersten, as well as other volunteers will be working on this.
  6. National campaign on sexual assault- Maddie, Ryan and their committees (University Services and Community Engagement) will collaborate on this.

  • We’ll create the header graphic and they’ll add it

  • They are fixing the Leadership Team page so that all members appear
  • “Funding” tab changed to “Need Money?”
  • Thought that funding was unclear
  • They are fixing the calendar
  • Will add all committee events as well as detailed information on Senate
  • Switched “Get Our Attention!” with “Archives” so that the way to contact us was front and center
  • I will continue to update it and add pictures to make it look more welcoming and fun

  • Decided to go with posters instead of a banner (more bang for the buck)
  • Will attend USERV committee meeting to discuss marketing ideas and social media needs
  • Will set up and manage a Facebook event page and send press releases to The Breeze, etc.

Finance Director: Casey Donnelly (Presented by Aaron)

  • Working on contingency with meetings starting tomorrow, Friday 28th. Will work for Cash for Clubbers and collaborate with Maddie and the Community Engagement committee.

Academic Affairs Chair: Robby Smith

  • Meeting with Provost on September 5, 2014.

Community Engagement Chair:Maddie Cairns

  • None

Legislative Action Chair: Josh Humphries

  • Meeting with Mayor yesterday. Future goal is to repair relationship between JMU and community, as well as increase our voting turn out immensely. Next step is contacting other Virginia universities that already have a voting precinct on their campus.

Membership Chair: Meredith Parker

  • The SGA Retreat is October 3rd and October 4th.

University Services Chair: Ryan Windels

Speaker: Nick Maggio

  • Senate speakers have been lined up for 13 of the 16 weeks of the semester. Liz Howley is coming on the first senate.
  • Town hall process is being worked on.

Treasurer: Aaron Brown

  • Purple out shirts are in the process of being made.
  • Meeting with Gale on Wednesday, September 3rd.
  • Will be collaborating with Casey on dues tomorrow and writing them into the bylaws.
  • Committee budgets will be sent out tomorrow, Friday August 29th.
  • Supplies have arrived and are in the office.
  • Madison Fest is currently up in the air because of budgeting.

Vice President: Kaitlin Thomas

  • Organizations have been emailed about Major Fair. Still needs to talk to Kristen and CAP.
  • Purple Out is October 27th on Festival lawn. Would like opinions on how to make event bigger and better. Everyone will be receiving hats if they work Purple Out.
  • Mr. and Mrs. Madison meetings are Friday at 1:00 PM.
  • Class Council will be meeting next Wednesday, September 3rd.
  • Meeting with athletics about a Gold Rush event during games.

President:Taylor Vollman

  • Waiting on other schools for the All Virginia Conference, considering moving it back to November.
  • Please keep phones away during meetings unless a probable cause is told.
