Welcome to Trigonometry HONORS! You should have completed a very successful year in Algebra 2 in order for you to take part in this class! Here are a few things that will help you to be the best you can be in this class:

First and foremost: Be RESPECTFUL! This includes arriving to class on time and being prepared to do your best. As we proceed into September, you will get to know the flow of this class. Any disrespect shown to your classmates or to me will not be tolerated. While you are in this class, I want you to be the best YOU …. and you will be!

Be Prepared! I expect each of you to have a pencil, notebook, textbook, and a calculator with you each day! You may use a pen for notes but all tests and quizzes must be completed in pencil to receive full credit! A graphing calculator is highly recommended but not required.

Be Positive! Leave your baggage at the door! There is so much more to take from this class than just the mathematics end! The interactions among all of us and the attitude that is present in the 43 minutes we spend together each day will truly determine the amount of learning we can accomplish! It is always my goal as a teacher for you to enjoy the class, whether or not you love mathematics! Keep in mind, it is an HONORS class and it will be demanding … but not unreasonable!

Grades:

Expect homework every night. Homework will constitute 15% of your marking period grade. Homework will always be an effort grade; therefore I must see sufficient work but it will not be graded on correctness. Late homework assignments will be accepted for half credit.

Expect to have a quiz almost weekly. Quizzes will make up approximately 35% of your grades.

Tests will be given at the end of each unit and will also account for about 35% of your grade.

In class assignments will be given randomly and will count as 15% of your marking period grade.
I am extremely excited to work with you this school year! I absolutely love trigonometry and I’m honored to be able to teach it to you! Please know my door is always open should you have a concern. Let’s have a great year together!
