Please briefly describe what experiences an intern in your district wouldreceive: Humboldt Unified School District has been providing internship training for approximately 20 years and has a well-established internship training program. Interns have the responsibility to provide services to a school and also serve on a rotation in order to get experience working with students of various ages, preschool through high school. An Intern will receive direct as well as indirect supervision and have the opportunity to work with several school psychologists. The district has recently adopted the NASP practice model, so as the intern works both alongside a psychologist and independently, he or she will have an opportunity to complete initial evaluations, reevaluations, FBAs, and multidisciplinary assessments as well as participate in Response to Intervention teams, provide consultation and professional development, participate in interventions, groups, and experience involvement in specialized programs. Interns will also attend monthly psychologist meetings for professional development and collaboration.

Please describe how supervision is provided to interns in your district:

Typically, interns are placed at one school setting independently, with supervision from an experienced psychologist. They receive guidance from the district psychologists while completing initial evaluations and reevaluations for students with resource-level support, as well as participate in and RtI team, including behavioral interventions. Interns will also participate in all other task a certified psychologist does, including consultation/collaboration, completing FBAs, developing and implementing BIPs, provide professional development for staff, and participate in pre-referral interventions. Interns will spend one day a week at other campuses, with quarterly rotations at a high school, middle school, specialized program, and preschool.

Will the supervisor(s) provide 2 hours of direct supervision for every 40 hours worked: Yes

How many hours do interns typically accumulate throughout the year: 1500
