Welcome to the fall edition of our Kennedy PTA Newsletter!
The mission of the Kennedy PTA is to act as a bridge between families & Kennedy staff. It works to provide opportunities for us to come together as a group with the intention of sharing knowledge, resources, and talents that will benefit all of our students. The continued collaboration between Kennedy Staff & families supports and enhances our welcoming, caring, and vibrant school community.
Please read on for important dates for upcoming meetings, events, and fundraisers. You can also find updates on the Kennedy Elementary PTA Facebook Page. In addition, PTA news will now be coming home on goldenrod paper! We hope this will help you sort out all of those papers coming home J
2013 PTA meetings, 6-7:30 p.m. in the LMC-FREE child care provided!!
§ November 7th The main topic of discussion is Social Media and Our Kids. A member of the Madison Police Department Cyber Safety Team will join us to share information and provide safety tips. We also will hear from a few tech saavy parents about their experiences with social media and their children. The meeting isThursday Nov 7th. 6-7:30pmin the LMC. Free childcare available.

§ MOVIE NIGHT featuring Monsters University! Friday, November 1st starting at 6:00 p.m. This is a FREE family event sponsored by the PTA J
Fundraising
§ Important Update!!! We NO LONGER collect milk caps. Many of the programs are ending so we will not be collecting them anymore.
§ Box Tops for Education-Please send in box tops with your student! Attached is a collection sheet to make it easy for us to count and submit. Please trim your box tops and make sure they have not expired. Visit www.boxtops4education.com for more information.
§ Coke Rewards-You can enter your Coke Rewards online (www.mycokerewards.com) and donate to Kennedy Elementary or you can send them to school to be entered.
§ Labels for Education-“Earn Free Stuff” for our school by turning in these labels! If you have questions about Labels for Education, please contact April Pautsch at or 577-5878. Visit www.labelsforeducation.com for more information. You can send your labels to school for collection.
§ Target Card 1% Back-Designate Kennedy Elementary to receive 1% back from all purchases made with your Target Card.
§ Bucky Books-We still have Bucky Books for sale! Check out the new app this year that allows you find coupons faster and easier than ever. Books are $35 each and our school receives $15 per sale! Email for information.
§ Spirit wear-Look for another order form coming home before the holidays!
§ Wisconsin Homegrown-This sale supports local vendors and our school! Many items make great gifts for the holidays. Orders are due by November 8th and item pick up will be December 8-10.
NEW Outdoor Improvement Committee
The PTA is currently seeking volunteers for a new committee. The committee will look at outdoor improvements to the school. Projects will include gardening and upkeep of the perennial beds around the school, possible updates to the sign out front, and completing the painting of our playground equipment. What does the PTA do with the money we raise?
We support learning at Kennedy! The PTA purchasedseveral iPads for classroom use, which teachers are using in a variety of ways. The PTA also funded the purchase of computer program called Reflex Math. This is a program used at school, and can also be accessed at home with a login and password shared by your child’s teacher.
