From Our Pastor

My dear friends in Christ,

Our sincere sympathy to Allen Voegerl at the death of his sister Marcella “Sally” Romai. Her funeral was in Jasper last week and since I was unable to attend I will offer the 10:30 am Mass for Allen’s sister on Sept. 13. May she rest in peace. Amen.

On Thursday and Friday this week, we celebrated the funeral Masses for Mary E. Brames and John Hunt. Our sincere sympathy to the Barmes and Hunt families. Both Mary and John were generous and kind individuals who had loving hearts. As they lived their lives, they sought to serve others in the name of the Lord Jesus. May they rest in peace. Amen.

A special thank you for the wonderful work done by the members ofthe Altar Society and the Christ Renews His Parish. This joint venture spent a total of 56 hours deep cleaning and polishingthe wood of thechurch pews and the sanctuary on Monday, August 24. Those who helped were Donna Ader, Roberta Burch, Nancy Consley, Rachel Doyle, Vonda Elliott, Francyne Fegan, Mary Gates, Melissa Hedrick, Mary Jo Lannan, Mary Rose Mangin, Stephanie McAtee,Becky Summers, Cathy Todd, Donna Van Winkle,Elaine Wade, Linda Wickman, Donna Williams, andVernita Williams. We are most grateful to to Stephanie McAtee and Elaine Wade who spearheaded this endeavor to rejuvenate our church interior.

This Sunday, August 30th, our Men’s Club is sponsoring the Hog Roast from 11:00 am to 1:30pm. at St. Martin Hall. Please plan to attend and enjoy the good food and fellowship!
