Welcome to our final Sarisbury Skipper of 2014.

Grounds Day

Unfortunately this was cancelled due to poor weather. We have made another date for your diary which is Saturday 7 February 2015.

Path clearance between Infant & Junior School
Thank you to Mr Kimble a Year R parent, and his son for clearing the pathway between our 2 schools one evening. We are very grateful for his kind support.

Parking in slip road
Please do not park in the slip road outside of school at any time, as access is required by emergency service vehicles. Thank you

Year R Ambulance visit Thank you to Mr Collins for arranging for an ambulance to visit school. The children had a great time exploring the ambulance.

Thanks to PTA
Who have given £500 to each Year group PLUS £50 to each class. Children and year groups are now making decisions about how it is spent.

Quantum Theatre ‘The calculating Mr One’ will visit on 23 January 2015. Thank you to the PTA for paying for this treat for all the children.

Puzzle Day
Thank you to Mrs Davies for organising puzzle day, when other local school children came to Sarisbury Infant school to challenge their mathematical skills.

Choir Singing at St Pauls

We had 15 children from Year 2 sing at the St Pauls Christmas Fayre. They received great feedback and got us all in the Christmas mood. Well done

Maths Workshop

Thank you to the parents who attended our Maths workshop. We trust you found them useful in supporting your child at home. Maths tool bags can still be purchased from the office at a cost of £5.

Clubs
After school and in house clubs have been

really successful this term, all have been well attended. Look out for details for the spring term

Governors
We have had governor visits in school to support year groups and events. Thank you to them for their support.

St Pauls Open the Book Assembly
We have enjoyed a Christingle and Posada assembly with the team from St Pauls. Thanks go to them for their support throughout the year.

Christmas Bazaar
It was wonderful to see so many of you at the Bazaar. We hope you and the children enjoyed visiting all the stalls You helped raise over £1,600. A huge thank you to the PTA for all their hard work to ensure it was another successful event. Thank you to all of you for your donations which helped make it so successful.

Christmas lunch
Wow our first home cooked Christmas dinner. Emily and the team did a brillian job the food was gorgeous. Well done!!

Community Links
Our Year 2 children have been to watch the Junior Year 4 nativity and the Year 3’s have watched our Year 2 performance. The local preschools have watched our Year R performance

Good News

We are delighted to inform you that Mrs Noble (teacher of Year 1 Seahorses) is expecting her first child in May 2015. Congratulations from all of us. She will start her maternity leave after the Easter holiday.

Please remember to phone school and leave a message on the answer phone on the first day of absence. Thank you

You will be receiving your child’s attendance certificate in the New Year. Please monitor this closely and work hard to keep your child’s attendance 90% or above.

Grandparents Tea

A big thank you to all the grandparents (or their substitutes!) who joined Year 2 for their annual tea party. The children always like chatting to you and giving you a sneak preview of their Christmas songs. As a school we were really pleased with the turnout and the opportunity to involve our wider community in our festive celebrations. Once again, great feedback from those that attended. Well done year 2.

Christmas Performances

We hope you all enjoyed watching your children in our annual shows. They were all fantastic and made us very proud. Thank you for supporting us and thanks go to the staff who made it all happen. A lot of hard work but worth it. Thank you for your kind donations, £1082.06. has been raised and given to Naomi house. AMAZING!!

And finally

Thank you for all your cards, gifts and good wishes. Your kindness and generosity are very much appreciated. We wish all the children, parents, families and friends of Sarisbury Infant School a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2015. Enjoy the rest!!
