·  Due at the beginning of each class.

·  Show ALL work and attempt ALL problems for full credit (2 pts)!

·  Can be made up after school, for half credit, within 1 week of due date.

·  3 missing assignments = after school detention/extra help

CUMULATIVE REVIEWS (CR): a take-home quiz

·  Usually have 5-7 days to complete.

·  I will check them for errors throughout the week (before or after class/school, during a prep period)

·  You must demonstrate effort before receiving help.

·  Make corrections and have it checked again before the due date.

·  Scores of less than 75% on a CR = after school detention/extra help on the next CR.

QUIZZES/TESTS/QUESTS:

·  approximately 75% of overall grade

·  If you receive a grade below a 65% on a test or quest only, you must stay after school to do corrections in order

to earn up to a 65%.

GRADING:

·  Quarter Grades are based on a culmination of points on all homework, quizzes, tests, exams and CRs.

·  Effort Grades (classwork, completed homework, improvement, note-taking, participation, seek extra help.)

·  Citizenship Grades (behavior, timeliness to class, respect for faculty and peers, attitude.)

·  Grades are usually updated weekly and can be viewed through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.

ABSENCES:

·  It is your responsibility to give me the assignment that was due and to ask for the class notes, missed homework and handouts, on the day you return to class. (BEFORE CLASS, NOT DURING INSTRUCTION)

·  You will be given two (2) days from the absence to complete the homework that you missed, for full credit.

·  If you are absent on the day of a quiz or test, you should be prepared to take it during the next math class. If this is not possible, it is your responsibility to see me to make other arrangements.

·  A zero-grade will be assigned for tests and quizzes until they are made up.

·  Make-ups must be done within one week or the grade will remain a zero.

·  If you are absent on a day when a CR is due, you must hand it in on the day you return to class otherwise the grade will be a zero.

EXTRA HELP: every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2:30-3:00, in Room J201

·  Seek extra help on the day that you do not understand something! Do not wait until you feel completely lost.

·  One (1) bonus point will be given each time you stay after school for extra help, and WORK!.

EXPECTATIONS: Treat everyone in this class with respect… including yourself! YOU CAN DO IT! I can help, if you let me. Ask questions, let me know when you do not understand something, seek extra help when needed. Come to class prepared. Upon entering the classroom take out your notebook and homework, and start the warm-up. Take care of thirst, bathroom and locker needs before coming to class. Be on time!
