Welcome to MEGA’s Flip and Learn Educational Fitness-Based Preschool! At Flip and Learn your child’s education, physical development, and self-confidence is important to us. We are pleased you have chosen us for your child and pledge to uphold our philosophy to teach in a fun, safe environment, while enriching your child’s knowledge and self-esteem. Our lesson plans and curriculum are guided by this philosophy.
At Flip & Learn, we go to extraordinary lengths to provide a unique experience for your child. Statistics show that more than 1/3 of children in America are considered overweight or obese. Join us in the fight against childhood obesity! We are blending the educational world with fitness, preparing your child for kindergarten, and helping their little bodies develop in a healthy way. Research supports that physical activity helps a child learn and retain information at a higher rate. Our preschool offers a progressive curriculum, and a highly trained staff who is caring and loving to your child. Part of our teaching strategy is to make learning and fitness FUN! We know the number one reason kids quit any activity is that “it’s just not fun anymore”. Through the use of unique teaching strategies, your children will want to come back week after week.
Thank you for your confidence in our program! If you have any concerns or suggestions, please contact us. We look forward to a great year!
Enthusiastically,
Brittney Robertson &Katie Denton
Thank you for taking the time to read this document as your understanding and cooperation is necessary in order for us to keep our student/teacher ratio at the proper levels.

We also ask that you place additional clothing in a zip lock bag and leave them in your child’s mailbox in case of accidents (undergarments, pants, socks, shirt.)
Drop-off/Pick-up Service:
We recommend that your child arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before class. Parents will accompany your child to the door at 8:40am for morning class or 12:25pmfor afternoon class where the instructors will be waiting. Parents will not be allowed in the gym during the morning hours as we feel that it is best that students are dropped off at the door and class begins on time. This will hopefully eliminate any detachment issues and help children get into the routine of being with us during the morning hours. If you are late, please bring your child in to school.
If your child is being picked up early from class, please come in to obtain your child. Other than early pick-ups please let us bring your child outside the preschool to you for dismissal. Every child needs a parent or approved adult to be waiting to pick them up.Children will be escorted out of the school promptly at 11:15 A.M. for morning classes and 3:00 P.M. for afternoon classes.
Late Pick-up Fee:
If your child is picked up later than ten minutes after the end of class (11:25 or 3:10), your account will be charged a five-dollar late fee. For each additional five minutes, another five dollars will be added to your account.

- No gum is allowed in class.
- If you would like to set up a meeting with an instructor please contact the gym and inform the instructor as you pick up or drop off your child.
- Conference times should be set up with your child’s teacher. There is not much time before class or after class for an unscheduled visit.

Change of Address/Phone /Email:
If you move to a new location or change your phone number, address, or email please inform us in the office.
Child’s Illness:
Please inform us if your child has any physical problems or medical information that we should know about. This includes food allergies, as we will be feeding your children snacks and need to know that information. Tell your child’s instructor if he or she has recently had an ear infection. The infection could hamper their balance and the instructor needs that information. Please do not send your child to school if he/she is ill. Children should be fever-free and/or vomit-free for at least 24 hours before returning to school.
If An Injury Occurs:
Make sure you leave an emergency contact name and phone number with our office. If your child is injured and you’re not at home, we’ll call that specified person. If you have any questions about scrapes/injuries that may have occurred during class, please call the office.
Discipline:
We expect good manners and a good attitude from the children. If a child is disruptive or disrespectful to a teacher or other students, they will be given a verbal warning with time to think if they want to participate in class and follow the rules. Your child will always be redirected to another activity after a second verbal warning. If there is a third verbal warning, a phone call will be made to the parent and the child will need to leave the classroom for the remainder of the day. We are committed to treating all children with respect, and in turn expect them to respect other students, our staff, and our facility. We cannot have children putting other in danger. If your child comes home with a concern, please contact the teacher who was involved within 24 hours.
Staff:
MEGA is very fortunate to have such a qualified staff. The staff will try to maintain the same schedule throughout the school year. However, your child may occasionally have a different teacher due to illness or emergencies. All the staff utilizes the same lesson plans and curriculum sheets, but every instructor has their own style of teaching. Please help your child adjust to a new teacher if this occurs. Our enthusiastic staff is well trained Many of the staff members are USAG Safety Certified, American Red Cross First Aid, and CPR Certified. Teachers regularly attend additional training.
Office Hours:
Our office staff is always here to help you. Our business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30A.M.– 8:00 P.M. and Saturday from 9:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.
Personal Belongings:
Children need their name on everything. They will need to bring a school bag or backpack for papers that are sent home. Backpack should be large enough to fit a paper as big as 11 x 14 inches. If your child has dietary restrictions and this has been discussed, please send your student to school with a pre-packed snack in their bag.
Special Treats:
Children may bring special treats for their birthday. We will send a list home with students of the number of kids in the class, as well as any food allergies of students.
Trips or Outings:
We have two field trips planned for your child during the school year; one in the fall and one in the spring on Fridays. When field trips of any kind are planned, parents will receive a notice regarding when, where, and at what time the children will be asked to meet us at the specified location. The trips provide firsthand experiences to help the children learn about the world in which they live, have a group experience, have fun, and become more aware of the things around them through observation. We do not use buses, but instead have the parents drive their own child.
Potty Training:
We require all the Flip & Learn students to be toilet trained. However, we realize that the students may have an occasional accident. We recommend that you keep a zip lock bag with your child’s name on it with an extra set of underpants and clothes in your child’s mailbox at school. Place the clothes in a zip lock bag with their name on the outside.
Room Parents:
We need two parents in each class who will volunteer to help with the parties on the three days indicated on the calendar for Halloween, the Holiday Celebration, and Valentine’s Day. Parents are expected to help all the children. Parents are responsible for any and all activities, including setting up and cleaning up materials. Being a Room Parent is a great opportunity to see what your child is doing in class, meet the teachers, and help your child and his/her classmates.
Termination of Enrollment by MEGA’s Flip & Learn:
The staff at MEGA understands that all children react differently to a childcare environment and they will exercise reasonable care and guidance to help the child adjust to this new environment. In the event that the child’s behavior results in injury to classmates, parents or staff, or is disruptive to the teaching environment at MEGA’s Flip & Learn, the parent(s) will be asked to attend a meeting to discuss the child’s actions and the staff’s response to determine if there is a way to help the child adjust. MEGA’s Flip & Learn reserves the right to evaluate the situation and may elect to terminate the child’s enrollment. Any tuition paid beyond the current week will be reimbursed to the parent.
The following are ways that will help us carry on the day’s activities more smoothly:
- Try to bring your child to school with a positive attitude. Please have your child here no earlier than 10 minutes before class is to start. We also encourage a healthy meal previous to class.
- Personally escort your child to the door and wait until the teacher takes your child inside.
- Some children may be “clingy” at first, but with encouragement and quality time from the teacher, the child will soon enter into the school with a great attitude and began to gain independence. Sometimes we may encourage you to leave quickly as this will help your child’s transition to be easier for all concerned. Hug them, tell them you love them, and then leave. Don’t look back! They’ll be fine!Emergency Medical Care (Accidents, Life Threatening Illnesses):
