Rules/Behavior
1. Be on time!
2. Put cell phones away. No phones should be out in the locker room!
3. Dress appropriately for class: black or maroon athletic shorts, white t-shirts, socks, and sneakers (see Dressing Out section below for more details).
4. Listen when the teacher or another student is talking.
5.Respect yourself and others.
6.Treat equipment and facilities with care.
7.You may use equipment when you have teacher permission only.
8.NO GUM CHEWING, DRINKING, OR EATING AT ANY TIME! THE ONLY EXCEPTION IS THAT WATER BOTTLES WILL BE ALLOWED WHEN CLASSES ARE OUTSIDE.
**Unwillingness to follow class rules will result in one or more of the Interventions listed on page 14 of the Code of Student Conduct**
Grading Policy
The grading policy is as follows:
25% Application of Fitness Concepts (Fitness Assessments)
25% Application of Movement Concepts (Participation & Skills Assessments)
40% Application of Personal and Social Responsibility (Dress Out & Sportsmanship)
10% Application of Cognitive Skills (Written Assessments)

Dressing Out
Students will dress out for class everyday. Black or maroon athletic shorts, and white t-shirts are the required colors. Students must change from school clothes into acceptable physical education attire.During colder weather, sweats, athletic warm-up suits, and lightweight jackets may be worn. Shorts must sit at the waist, you must be able to run without holding your shorts up, and they must come down to just above the knee. There will be no rolling of shorts and no writing on the backsideof shorts. Shirts must have a regular round collar neck and shoulders must be covered. Our school does sell acceptable attire for thosewanting to show some school spirit. Shirts will be sold for $10.00, dry fit shirts for $12 and shorts for $10.00. Uniform sets also available. Regular set is $15 and dry fit shirt and shorts is $17. Students must remove any jewelry deemed unsafe by the teacher during physical activity. Students must wear appropriate athletic shoes (sneakers) with laces.
Students are encouraged to bring stick deodorant for personal hygiene purposes. AEROSOL DEODORANT SPRAYS OR COLOGNES/PERFUMES ARE PROHIBITED ON CAMPUS. These items will be confiscated DUE TO THE MEDICAL CONDITIONS OF OTHERS IN THE LOCKER ROOMS.
Medical Excuses
Notes from home may excuse a student from participation for the current week. Any student unable to physically participate beyond that must be justified with a doctor’s written and signed excuse. The excuse should explain in detail what physical activities the student is capable and not capable of doing, and for what extent of time.
Make Up Work for Days Absent from PE Class
Students will be expected to complete a written assignment to earn their points for each day/week they are not participating. If they are absent for more than one day, they will need to see their teacher for an alternative written assignment.
Locker Room Procedures
All students will enter and exit the locker rooms through the proper doors, and will not be allowed in the hallways unsupervised. Late students must sign in with the coach in their locker room upon entering. Students will have 6 minutes to dress and use the restrooms before and after class. Students must be seated immediately when they are finished. Students are encouraged to lock up all valuables in their locker. Locks and lockers will be provided by the physical education teacher at a cost of $5 per term. At the end of the term, locks will be collected, and lockers will be inspected to ensure they are in working condition. If a student does not return the lock or the lock has been lost during the school year, a fee of $4 will be charged.
Locker Room Rules
1. Once dressed,students will remain seated.THERE WILL BE NO STANDING ON BENCHES, NO FOOLING AROUND, ROUGH PLAY, FIGHTING, RUNNING, OR CHASING.
2. Cell phones should be put away and secured once you’re in the locker room!
3.Use appropriate language, and keep voices low so that you can hear instructions.
4.All students need to clean up their areas. Clothing or possessions left behind will be put in the lost and found box.
5. DO NOT LEAVE THE LOCKER ROOM FOR ANY REASON WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM A COACH.
6.No food, gum, or candy in the locker rooms. If a student needs to eat for a particular reason, the coach should be made aware of the situation.
