Dear Student,
Welcome to Cornerstone Christian Schools Online School! I want to take this opportunity to welcome you and introduce myself. I currently teach Spanish and elementary grades. I taught for 15 years in the elementary, middle and university levels before homeschooling for 12 years. I earned my Bachelor’s from the University of Texas-Austin and my Masters from the University of Nevada-Reno. Teaching is my passion and I believe that the Lord directed me to this field. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and gardening.
As we start out the new school year I want to share some pointers on how to succeed with your courses.
First of all, I encourage you to make it a habit to submit assignments on a regular basis. This is one of the most important components of a successful online student. Donot take long breaks. This often makes it hard to get back to schedule. Be diligent and commit your work unto the Lord. Strive to do everything in excellence and turn in your BEST work possible daily!
Grades: In order to finish the course by your deadline, commit to completing at least one unit per month. Grade distribution is as follows: Lessons 10%; Projects 25%; Quizzes 25%; Tests 40%.
Quizzes & Tests: It is important that you study & be thoroughly prepared BEFORE taking the quizzes and tests. You are only allowed one attempt to take quizzes and tests so make sure you are ready before you open it. No retakes. If you have any questions contact me before you take the test/quiz.
Uploading: Use the upload feature for projects only. Short written answers and short paragraphs in lessons, quizzes and tests can be typed in the text boxes.
Lessons: Use complete sentences and correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar in your answers! Points will be taken off for not doing so. Do not submit blank work – it will be reassigned.
Plagiarism: CCS has a strong policy against plagiarism. It will not be tolerated. Use your own words to write reports, essays, projects, etc.
