Welcome to Consignment at the Nearly Nu!

Please read the following guidelines prior to consigning your items to insure you understand and accept the conditions of the store.

  1. Consignment percentage is 50% to the consignor. For example, if you consign an item for $4.00, the consignor will receive $2.00 once the item has sold.
  2. Payout is the first of every month. If your item(s) has sold within the time, you can pick up your money at the clerks station. Feel free to check with the clerk station to see if you have money during open business hours. Be reminded that money you have six months from when an item sells to claim your money. After that, money will be retained by the store.
  3. When you agree to consign, you will receive a consignment number. Please print your consignment number, name, complete address, and phone number on the top of the consignment sheet. Please use blue or black ink when completing the form.
  4. Please only place one item per line on the consignment form. Also note that one side of the form is for clothing items and the other for all other items. (see attached form for list of items that are not taken at the Nearly Nu). Please print as clearly as possible -if we can’t read it, we can’t process your item.
  5. If you live in Valley City, you maybring in 14 items per day with a total of 56 items per week. If you live outside of Valley City, you maybring in 56 items per week but this can occur within one day. We accept consignment items Monday through Saturday during business hours.
  6. Please place items to be consigned in a bag or box and include the completed consignment sheet with your items.
  7. Consigned items must be clean. Please launder or clean items prior to consigning them. The store reserves the right to reject items that are not clean, are stained, or are torn/broken in some way. Our staff review all consigned items in the order they are received. When an item is rejected, we discard or recycle the item. If you would like to retain your discarded items, please ask for the consignment staff to review your items while you are present. While we recognize the value of allowing consigner pickup of discarded items at another time, unfortunately, the store does not have the storage space to keep rejected items.
  8. Clothing items will be accepted in consignment on a seasonal basis. Spring and Summer items are accepted from February 15th to August 15 while Fall and Winter items will be accepted from August 15th to February 15th. Because of the lack of storage space, out of season items will be rejected.
  9. When pricing your items, please keep in mind we do not accept items being consigned for under $1.00. We encourage you to group smaller items together with string or a baggy to list these items for a higher price.
  10. Items that do not sell in 30 days will become store property unless the consignor claims the item. The cut off day and time for claiming unsold items is Saturday before5:00 p.m.
  11. Consignment items can be re-consigned for a $.25 fee per item. To re-consign an item, complete a new consignment sheet and take item to the consignment area with the completed sheet. This fee is to cover the expenses incurred in re-ticketing the items.
  12. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask the staff in the consignment area or call us at 845-1022.
