E mail: I do not have an office on campus. E mail is

the only way to keep in touch with me. Please do not put me in your online

address book.

Required Texts: (1) “Communicate! A Workbook for Interpersonal Communication,” 7th Edition. Kendall/Hunt Publishing Company. Do not buy a “used” book – pages may be missing that you need. Optional: Codependent No More, Beattie, Melody.

What you need to do before the next class:

1. Go to my website. PRINT the Syllabus. Read the syllabus. Bring it with you to

all of our classes. You will be signing a statement in the second day of class that you have

read and understand the syllabus and class behavior expectations. “Ignorance” will not be an

excuse for not knowing what is in the Syllabus, nor will sentences that begin with “I didn’t

know.” No exceptions! Read and study the Syllabus. You are responsible for this information.

2. Go to my website. PRINT the Class Schedule. Bring it with you to all of our classes.

3. BUY 4”E lovas”half sheetGREEN 882” or “Par Score” half sheetblue scantrons.

(50 questions on the front side of either the green or blue scantrons).

You cannot use the back side – so plan on buying the number you need –4. These are for

sale in the bookstore and at some coffee/snack stands on campus.

4. You will be given a copy of our first assignment – all other assignments you must

get from my website.

5. Go to the ComputingCenterto print the syllabus, class schedule, assignments, and

handouts for thiscourse if you do not have a computer and printer at home.

6. Unacceptable excuses for not turning in work on time: “My printer didn’t work.” This

is why we have a ComputingCenter on campus. “My computer didn’t work.” This is

also why we have a Computing Center on campus.

Extras: The music you hear playing before class and during the break is “HEMI-SYNC” music forsynchronization of the left and right brain. It’s “brain food!” It can be purchased in the campus

bookstore or online. The link is:
