Welcome FA Booster Members and Fine Arts Parents 2015-2016!

Another great year of FA Fine Arts programs has just begun! The FA Boosters-Fine Arts continues to provide a framework for parent involvement in our plays, concerts, and visual art events. Your membership and participation in Boosters community events such as Harvest Fest 2015, Tech Week Dinners, “Dinner and a Show”, and concessions are some of the ways the FA enthusiasm for the Arts continues to thrive. Our teachers bring dedication and passion to their students by building a classroom that encourages, supports, creates opportunity, and expands the education of their students. Booster parents compliment their efforts throughout the year by volunteering, donating food, sewing, building sets, helping with concerts, photographing, and joining in friendship when they are needed! Look for opportunities to help in the FA Weekly Booster News section. Or contact Valerie Thompson or Director of Development, Dee Hwang . for more information.

The funds we raised through membership drives, donations, and concessions last year allowed us to make the following purchases:

Microphones and mic wires , a Screenflex partition for LS and theater, a Cyclorama theater backdrop , flowers and gift cards for gifting to our seniors and teachers, costumes for plays, and provisions for trips and events. These purchases totaled almost $5000.00! Thank you for your generosity!

"When we teach a child to sing or play the flute, we teach her how to listen. When we teach her to draw, we teach her to see. When we teach a child to dance, we teach him about his body and about space, and when he acts on a stage, he learns about character and motivation. When we teach a child design, we reveal the geometry of the world. When we teach children about the folk and traditional arts and the great masterpieces of the world, we teach them to celebrate their roots and find their own place in history."
