Welcome back returning SWE members! I hope you had a tremendous summer. I would like to welcome all of our new and prospective members to The Society of Women Engineers at MSU. My name is Jennifer, and I am your President for the ’14-’15 year. I am currently in my third year studying Mechanical Engineering and German. As a national, professional organization, SWE has much to offer women engineers. From conferences, to networking, to social events, this organization offers women the opportunity to grow as engineers while making lasting connections.

For those who don’t know me, I am a Mechanical Engineering student in my 4th(but not last!) year at MSU. I enjoy being involved in a variety of ways on campus and love to travel!

Hi Ladies! My name is Mariana, and I will be your SWE treasurer for this year! I am also a senior in Biosystems Engineering with an interest in food manufacturing. This year I will be responsible for getting all of the delicious food for our general member meetings as well as setting up spirit wear and refunding you for anything that is necessary! I am looking forward to meeting all of you and to catch up with all you ladies.

Thank you for joining us for our first meeting of the year! We are your Event Coordinators: Lucia DelVillano and Laura Bartow-Goudie. Laura is a senior in Materials Science and engineering who completed a co-op for GE Aviation at the Batesville Composite plant in Batesville, Mississippi. Lucia is a junior in Mechanical Engineering, who interned with Meritor in Troy, Michigan.

We are so excited to be back at MSU and to start planning our fall events! We will be overseeing chairs for our WOW That's Engineering, Day with SWE, Girl Scout Day, and Impressions 5 events. We will be looking for volunteers for each event, so please consider helping out! They are always a lot of fun, and a great way to meet current and future SWEsters!
