Web Developer – Summer Project

The Volunteering Department plays a vital role in volunteering opportunities and experiences for Leeds Beckett students, and are looking to extend this out to graduates of the university. The Graduate Network is a platform for students to interact with graduates to get support and advice, as well as providing university leavers with the same opportunities they had when they were studying.

Role

The Web Developer role is essential in helping the Volunteering Team develop their Graduate Network website and have it up and running by September 2017. This website will serve as the main hub for the network which will involve users from current students through to graduates of Leeds Beckett University. The role will be supervised by the Digital Communications Coordinator in the Marketing & Communications Team and the Alumni and Accreditation Coordinator in the Volunteering Team.

Job Description

Responsible to: Digital Communications Coordinator/Alumni and Accreditation Coordinator

  • To help build and develop The Graduate Network website using Wordpress
  • To integrate BuddyPress into the website and set up profiles for users
  • To work within other relevant departments to support the build and launch of the website
  • Be able to work as part of a team to support the Volunteering team and Students’ Union
  • To act as an ambassador of the Students’ Union
  • To work in a manner that reflects the values of the organisation
