Campus Interviews
The following organizations conducted campus interviews for MSW final year students of the Institute. 1.Chaitanya Mental Health Centre, Pune (on 7April and selected Nibil, Ganesh Kumar and Aneesh); 2.Varadaan - IAPA, Nagpur (on 7April) and selected Anand, Devanand, Megha, Pallavi, Smruti, Seema and Shubhangi; 3. Udyogini, New Delhi (9April) and selected Alice, Aruni, Manoranjan and Megha.4. ICID, Nagpur(11 April).
Dr Ajit Kumar Joins National Law School University of India
Our colleague Dr Ajit Kumar joined the National Law School University of India, Bangalore, on lien from the Institute, as an Associate Professor and Deputy Director of the Centre for Study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy. He will be primarily responsible for research activities focusing on the Northeast region. We wish Dr Ajit Kumar all the very best in his new assignments at Bangalore.
CIF Team Visits Nagpur CHILDLINE
A team of Childline India Foundation comprising Ms Chitrakala Acharaya (Deputy Director) and Mr Sandeep Shinde, visited Nagpur Childline on 17-19 March as part of networking visits. The team visited all partner organizations of Nagpur Childline and held interactions with the directors and team members.
Farewell to Final Year Students
A farewell function was organized for all the final year students of the Institute on 21 March. Students from the MSW 1 took the lead in organizing this event. Each final year student was given a memento on the occasion. The MSW 1 students presented a group song. The final year students shared their experiences. Dr Naveenchandran, Ms Rashmi Babhulkar, Ms Monica Taide, Ms Aarti Pawar, and Dr John Menachery spoke during the occasion conveying best wishes to the final year students for success in the university examinations and their career.
Faculty Participation in Conferences etc.
Dr Ajit Kumarmade a presentation on ‘Panchayati Raj’ at a National Seminar on “Panchayati Raj System: A Strategy for Development in India” organized by the Department of Sociology, RSTMNU, on 10 March.
Ms Anuradha Joshi attended the State Level Workshop on Gender Sensitisation Among Social Work Educators of Maharashtra organized by Kumbhalkar Social Work (Evening)College, Nagpur, on 25 March.
Ms Aarti Pawar attended a Seminar on “The Importance of Solid Waste Management in Cities Today and the Role of Waste Pickers” organized by ESAF, Nagpur on 23 March.
Dr John Menachery was VC-Nominee in the selection panel for selection of Principal at Swami Vivekananda College of Social Work, Nagpur, 21March.Dr Menacheryalso functioned as External Examiner for field practicum for BA(SW)3 at School of Rural Development, TISS, Tuljapur, on 27 March.
Dr Sphurti Katarni, Ms Sandhya Fating, Ms Mrinal Joshi & Ms Monica Taide attended ICSSR-State Level Workshop on “Research Methodology and Statistics in Psychology & Social Sciences” organized by VN Government Institute of Arts & Social Sciences, Nagpur on 25-27 March.
Ms Sandhya Fating was Resource person at ILO-BDS Training Programme for beneficiaries organized by Evangelical Social Action Forum (ESAF), Nagpur on 18 March.
Dr Vaishali Bezalwar attended University Level Workshop on “Nivedan va Lekhan” organized by the Tirpude College of Social Work, Nagpur on 23 March.Dr Bezalwar alsoattended a conference on “Suvarna Mahotsavi Maharashtra Parivarthanacha Disha” organized by Vidarbha Sahitya Sangh, Nagpur on 25-27 March.
Dr Prince Ajaykumar Agashe wasRTMNU External Examiner for Practical Examination in Information Technology Application at B.Lib Sc / M.Lib Sc Part I/II Examination (Summer 2011) on 17 & 29 March.
Ms Anuradha Joshi, Dr Prajakta Tanksale and Dr Sphurti Katarni attended One-Day State Level Workshop on “Adolescent Issues and Challenges” organized by the Mahila Mahavidyalaya, and Indian Academy of Paediatrics, Nagpur on 27 April.
