2011Great American Figure Eight Trailer Race Rules

There will be NO ENTRY FEES!!!!! Pit Pass ONLY

Trailer rules are as follows – NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!

LENGTH – A minimum of 12 feet long. Measured from center of ball to the back edge of frame rail.

WIDTH – A minimum of 4 feet wide, measured from outside to outside of frame rail.

Tire size – Minimum size of 4.80-8, Maximum size of 15 inch tires. Tires must beoutside of frame rail, they cannot have any kind of protection around them.

HITCH – Ball type hitch only, NO WAGON HOOK-UPS WITH A HITCH PIN. NO GOOSE NECK TRAILERS. NO PINNAL HITCH TRAILERS. Maximum of a 2inch ball, if hookup is so equipped you can put a bolt through hole on latch. No wire, clamps, safety chains or welding allowed. Tongue of trailer cannot be made to spin around.

SPRINGS – Trailer must ride on a set of springs. These cannot be heavy duty springs like off a farm truck, or anything else heavy duty.

AXLES – Must be asingle axle trailer. No heavy duty truck rear-ends, wagon axles, or anything else that is heavy duty. No Farm Machinery or Industrial Strength axles. No live stock or horse trailers.

THEME – You must have some kind of a theme for your trailer. Not just a lot of junk thrown in the bed of your trailer. Boat on a boat trailer, camper or a theme you can come up with. $100 Prize for the best Appearing/ Themed Entry as voted by the crowd.

TOW VEHICLE- Any vehicle legal (trucks or cars). Nooperational4 wheel drive vehicles (If using a 4x4 you must unhook front or rear drive shaft so 4x4 cannot be used. No contact between tow vehicles. Contact between tow vehicles will get you disqualified. NO EXTRA METAL ON OUTSIDE OF TOW VEHICLE except for driver’s protection as follows - 2 driver protection bars will be allowed. You may use 1”x3” flat steel or maximum 2” diameter round or square tubing mounted on the outside of the vehicle and not extending more than 12” past the door seam on either side. One (1) u shaped pipe will be allowed on top of front bumper, maximum 1 ½ inch pipe, for radiator protection.

THE GREAT AMERICAN FIGURE EIGHT TRAILER RACE IS ACTUALLY A SLOW MOVING TRAILER DEMO DERBY. THE LAST CAR WITH THE TRAILER STILL ATTACHED WINS. ROLL BARS ARE NOT REQUIRED, THIS IS NOT A RACE. WE MAY USE A JAM CAR TO CONTROL THE SPEED AROUND THE TRACK. TRAILERS MAY BE BOATS, CAMPERS, OR OTHER TYPE TRAILERS, See Rules above for legal trailers. NO TRASH IN TRAILERS!!! WARNING: THIS RACE WILL CREATE AN OBSTACLE COURSE FULL OF JUNK AND DEBRIS ON THE TRACK.

ONCE WE GET TO 4 CARS WE WILL NOT REQUIRE YOU TO FOLLOW THE “FIGURE EIGHT” COURSE. IT WILL BE AN ALL-OUT BATTLE TO THE LAST VEHICLE WITH A TRAILER ATTACHED TO WIN! YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO STAY IN THE ARENA FOR SAFETY.

PAYOFF: $500 TO WIN, $400, $300, $200, $100

Payoff based on 10 entries. If less than 10 event will be $400 to win, $300 for second, $200 for third, $100 for fourth
