Ways and Means Committee

Specific Duties:

a. The committee maintains a Friends of the CIL group for the purpose of fundraising. This group meets semi-annually for the purpose of receiving information on the Center's achievements and planning fund-raising activities.

b. The committee provides support to Friends of the CIL, which is responsible for cultivating financial support in the community in support of the CIL mission.

c. Fund-raising is need driven and requires the Committee members to be appraised of gaps in the CIL’s programs.

d. The committee works very closely with the center director to see that its activities are targeted to the needs of the CIL.

e. The committee reviews the CIL’s program reports with the Executive Director. It will assure that the good work of the CIL is known and respected in the community.

f. The committee presents plans for such activities as it wishes to undertake to the Board of Directors in February for approval prior to implementation.

g. It monitors endowment investments and makes recommendations for any changes to the Board in February.

h. The committee assists Friends of the CIL to be highly visible in the community in order to represent the very best of the CIL.
