Guest Speakers: The local girl scouts spoke on behalf of the Gold Awardassignments. Kaitlin Diehl, Kenetha Markle and Shawnee Armstrong. The girls spoke on behalf of their service projects and presented the group withpamphlets and brochures and ask for any assistance possible in making this award happen for them. They only have till the beginning of August to accomplish their task before they leave for college. All three were seniors this year.

Barb Diehl spoke on behalf of the insurance these girls need in order to hold such events. Karen is looking into WABA’s insurance through State Farm in case the Girls Scout Organization will not provide the proper insurance for their upcoming events.

Old Business:

4th of July ParadeBarb Diehl spoke on behalf of the 4th of July Committee– she only has received $50.00 to date for the $330.00 needed as prize money for parade winners. Items for goodie bags can be dropped off at FNB Bank or call Barb and she can stop by and pick them up. She is also looking for Parade judges. The Legion Riders will be having a meeting this week and getting back in touch with her if they are able to pass the American Flag through Main Street starting at 9:30 on parade day. If not there is another sub group that is interested in helping out. Barb also is in need of help the morning of to line the parade up.

New Business:Business Promotions Committee– Lisa spoke on behalf that she has several people interested in joining to help her and she also spoke about the Seminar that CCN was hosting at the Central Chamber of Commerce at 9 am12:30 pm on June 4th. Anyone interested could attend to learn about advertising with CCN

Other Business:

No WABA Meeting in July

Next meeting will be held on Wednesday August 5, 2009 @Watson Inn @12:00
