Minutes

Attending: Bryan Steffan, Chris Hulett, Cole Ingraham, Jessica Konrath, Bill McNary, Julie Serfass

  1. WAFC Jr.
  2. Two NUTC scholarships were awarded.
  1. DC United Exhibitions
  2. August 14, 2010, 7 p.m. game. Will combine pre-game party with end of summer party to include beer, food and soda.
  3. Chris will organize beverages and Bill will id. and monitor wristbands at the event.
  4. Half time exhibition will include one men’s game and one co-ed game. Cole will organize the individuals that will participate in the exhibition.
  1. PADA website opportunity
  2. PADA will forward WAFC a Memo of Understanding (MOU) detailing the agreement between PADA,WAFC and the vendor.
  3. WAFC will seek legal advice to review the DOU.
  4. Bryan will establish a website committee to oversee the website development.
  5. Bryan and Cole will serve as the board liaisons on this committee.
  1. Anacostia Field Repair
  2. As of July 26, 2010, NPS has been non-responsive. Bill will continue to try and contact NPS.
  3. Jes will serve as the board liaison.
  1. 2011 UPA Organizers Conference
  2. Speaker ideas –Eric Simon, Shalom, League and liability speaker from Philadelphia
  3. Activity ideas - Capitol tour, Crystal City Sports pub, Woodside Grill
  4. Jes will look into a Mt. Vernon Whiskey tour and transportation options.
  1. 2009 Annual Survey review
  2. A captains meeting/Anacosita field repair/an open-forum Q&A meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, September 9, 2010. Location is TBD.
  3. Jes will send out a post-summer survey.
  1. Julie will edit the current rec. league rules to include foul clarifications.
  1. Summer league wrap-up
  2. Shirt/disc update will all be delivered by the tournament if not sooner.
  3. Wilson High School scheduling conflict
  4. Bryan will contact Wilson to obtain a refund.
  5. Party will be in conjunction with the DC United Exhibition game on August 14th. Bryan will inquire about what time the parking lot opens and will schedule the time accordingly.
  6. Captains’ gift ideas-Breakmark (BM) provided WAFC with shorts and they have been distributed.

  2. Bryan will email Micah to open up registration mid-August and close it before Labor Day weekend.
  3. Scheduling
  4. First game will be the weekend of 9/11&12th
  5. Tournament dates will be determined by Bill, Julie and Bryan.

  2. BM wants to open up sales of hats, pullovers, shorts and sweatpants to individuals via a hyperlink on the website. BM will manage and ship all merchandise ordered once a month. Cole will continue to serve as the liaison to BM.
  3. Chris will get stickers for donated water bottles.
  4. DaBUT –Julie will coordinate with help from Jes. Will be scheduled for either 10/4 or 10/11.
  5. Chesapeake, August 28 & 29, 2010.
  6. Team breakdown: 16 elite open, 20 open, 8 elite womens, 8 womens, 16 elite mixed and 16 mixed.
  7. The local fire department will provide food and parking enforcement. Parking will be $2/day.
