Best practice

Please note: When using this light the best position is to have it positioned below eye level between you and what you are doing. It is important to have the light shade below eye level to prevent glare.

Warning: Do not look directly at the LED’s in this lamp.

Also the amount of illumination on an object increases fourfold if the distance between the lamp and the object is halved. Remember to keep some background lighting on as well as it will help prevent eye strain.

Using lighting correctly, wherever you need it, can make a big difference to the amount you can see. For more advice and general tips on lighting, or to view the full lighting range you can visit RNIB’s website.

The adjustable light comes in 3 parts; the light on its square base, a plug in power adapter and a connecting cable.

The square base of the lamp contains 4 tactile touch buttons with black symbols. From left to right; the first circular shaped button is the on/off switch. To the right is a square button which alters the colour temperature. The next two buttons are a plus and then a minus volume symbol.

1.  Remove all packaging from around the lamp and place it on a firm level table.

2.  The AC power supply socket is located at the back of the base. Connect the cable jack to the socket on the lamp base and the connector to the power adaptor.

3.  Plug the power adapter into a suitable electrical socket.

4.  Switch the lamp on by touching the raised CIRCULAR ON/OFF symbol on the lamp base.

5.  To select the colour of the light touch the raised SQUARE symbol on the lamp base. There are three settings in the following sequence: Warm (2700K), Daylight (6500K) and Cool (4000K).

6.  To select the required brightness level touch the raised PLUS or MINUS symbol on the lamp base. Five levels can be selected.

CAUTION: When adjusting the lamp head please hold the base and do not exceed the stop positions of the arm or head as this will damage the lamp.

Hints and Tips

General maintenance

The LEDs do not need to be replaced as they are designed to last for the lifetime of the product.

During cleaning operations make sure the light is disconnected from the mains supply. The light requires no special maintenance. If the light is heavily soiled it can be wiped with a damp cloth with a mild soap solution. Do not use liquid or spray cleaners as they may enter the shade housing, affecting electrical safety. As with all electrical appliances, care must be taken with trailing wires.
