RIDE TO TIME (R2T) QUALIFYING EVENTS 2016

$5 per combination for each day

Sunday 29th May 2016 at Heywood Pony Club Grounds(BYO lunch)

Sunday 5th June at Heywood Pony Club Grounds (Canteen available)

(to be held in conjunction with Heywood PC rally, R2T attendees receive a visitor rally)

Sunday 19th June at Penshurst Pony Club Grounds(BYO lunch)

Sunday 3rd July at Penshurst Pony Club Grounds(Canteen available)

(to be held in conjunction with Penshurst PC rally, R2T attendees receive a visitor rally)

Entries close May 20th 2016.

To be eligible for the final day all members must attend a minimum of 2 qualification days and they must ride at both venues to be eligible. (That means you can attend as many as you like but you must attend one day at Heywood & one day at Penshurst as a minimum to be eligible for the Wannon Zone final)

The Wannon Zone final will be held at the Warrnambool Race meeting on Sunday 10th of July 2016. This will be an official race day so be prepared to ride on the track in a race day atmosphere. Those selected to go to the State final will be required to attend the Moonee Valley races on Saturday 20th August 2016.

Anyone wishing to participate must ride a fully qualified mount & be graded for Horse Trials Grade 1, 2, 3 or 4.

Section A - Grade 1 & 2 combined riding 1000m in 109 secs.

Section B – Grade 3 & 4 combined riding 1000m in 120 secs.

This speed is to be ridden over a 1000m distance. Your mount will need to be fit.

There are to be no watches of any kind to be worn by participants. Jumping saddles or exercise pads (with appropriate surcingle & breastplate) that pass gear check may be used.All participants MUST wear a back protector.

The day will start at 9.30am for gear check & briefing.

The Wannon Zone ZA/DCI panel reserve the right to refuse entry, alter the format &substitute combinations at their discretion. The R2T qualifying & final day will be run under PCAV rules & RVL guidelines for R2T. Entry for the R2T is notification of acceptance to these conditions.

All participants MUST wear a back protector.

All participants in 2015 enjoyed R2T immensely. This activity is highly recommended to develop skills in riding at a correct pace while gaining experience into career pathways in the racing industry. Last year’s finalists rode on a metropolitan track on race day and meet some of Australia’s leading jockeys and trainers.
