Voorhees CER SUMMER THEATRE PROGRAM

Voorhees CER SUMMER THEATRE PROGRAM

Voorhees CER

SUMMER THEATRE PROGRAM

Presented by the

Voorhees Theatre Company

Who: / Performance Program: Boys & girls entering 3rd grade through 8th grade as of Sept, ‘16.
Participants spend half the day in rehearsal and half the day in interactive workshops on theatre-related topics taught by local experts and program staff. Informal, non-stressful auditions are held during the first week of the program; every participant is placed within the production. Due to the collaborative nature of producing a show, we are not able to accept children who will miss more than two days due to planned absences. Any child who is absent more than two days may be removed from the production, his/her role may be reassigned, and no refund of the registration fee will be provided.
Tech Theatre Program: Boys & girls entering 7th grade through 10th grade as of Sept. ‘16.
Participants focus on the technical support that brings the magic on stage to life: lighting, sound, sets, props. Participants should have an interest in working with tools and paint to build and decorate sets. Tech program participants will prepare the sets for The Lion King Jr. and for the young adult production of 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and, at the discretion of the Tech Program Director, will serve as stage hands for both shows. Tech participants will be expected to follow directions well and behave responsibly with an awareness of safety. Pre-program interviews with supervisory staff may be conducted. Because of the unique nature of the technical theatre environment, staff members reserve the right to remove from activities any camper not following directions or behaving disrespectfully.
Open to residents of ALL communities
