To celebrate Volunteers’ Week 2018 Volunteer Essex are inviting volunteers countywide to tell their own volunteering story. Three winners will have their story featured on the Volunteer Essex website during the month of June. In addition the author of each winning story will receive a Mark and Spencer’s Gift Voucher to the value of £20.
To enter the competition please complete your details and add your volunteering story in approximately 500 words. Your article could be about how you came to volunteering, how it has affected you, what you enjoy about it etc. It’s up to you!
Your entry should include at least one photo (preferably as a jpg. and in landscape format). Before supplying photographs for use on our website please ensure that you have received permission from any third parties that feature in the photograph.

Terms and Conditions
- Each competition entry must be the personal story of the entrant. Stories submitted about a third party will not be accepted.
- Entries and photographs must be submitted by email to Paper copies will be not be accepted.
- Entries must include a photograph. (As photographs will be published on the Volunteer Essex website entrants must have permission from any third parties appearing in the photograph.)
- Entrants must live within the area covered by Volunteer Essex. See
- Volunteering stories must relate to an organisation with volunteering opportunities listed on the Volunteer Essex website. If you are unsure please contact your local Volunteer Centre who will be happy to provide this information.
- Volunteer Essex reserves the right to edit submitted articles and does not guarantee publication.
- Volunteer Essex will not use submitted articles for any purpose other than publication to the Volunteer Essex website.
