ADMINISTRATIVE

Nicasa Donation

Mayor Lumpkins stated he wanted to make sure everyone was on board with the $1500 donation to Nicasa. He said that we didn’t give them anything last year, since they were looking for $5000 we bowed out of it. Nicasa still provides support in the area and this year they would be extremely happy with the $1500 donation. Trustee Meeks asked if the $1500 was going to be a per year charge. Mayor Lumpkins stated every year would be negotiable. The way Mayor Lumpkins looks at it is that the $1500 is a catch up, since we didn’t give Nicasa anything last year. He believes that we should always participate, but look at everything on a per year basis.

Pipe View Contract

Mayor Lumpkins stated that we have to monitor sewers and this is the second year of a five year program. He stated that we budgeted for $7500 and that is going to be how much we spend this year. Last year they were able to get a lot more streets done, but that is because the contract they had was for a lot lower amount. He stated that all of Lotus would be getting done all the way up to Chesapeake Trail. The reason he wanted to get into Chesapeake was to be able to televise all the way through especially since the flooding last year that effected 2-3 homes. He then stated the streets that were done last year which was our side of Rollins, Tomahawk, Flintwood, Brentwood, Hiawatha, and part of Cedar Wood Circle. He stated this is something we have to do and hopes to get Warrior done next year.

Rental Regulation Program

Mayor Lumkins stated that Trustee Pekar has been to a couple program meetings. They are having a meeting Thursday October 13th at the Hainesville Village Hall. Trustee Pekar volunteered to go as he has already gone to a couple meetings. Mayor Lumpkins stated he would reply for him and tell them he was attending.

Radar Speed Sign

Mayor Lumpkins asked Trustee Meeks if she had spoken to Chief about this and she stated no that she has not been able to get with him. Mayor Lumpkins stated that he has gotten several complaints about speeders, especially on Lotus and Black Cherry, since those are the entrances in. He stated there are systems out there that write tickets to people who actually speed. He knows they have talked about speed bumps in the past, but decided it is not the direction they want to go in. He asked Trustee Meeks to get information in front of the Board with costs to see if this is feasible and if we could afford it. He also wanted to know who had control over it. He wanted to know if it was the municipalities or if there was a third party company.

Arrowhead Park

Mayor Lumkins wanted to keep everyone up to date and wanted to let them know electric was supposed to go up and still hopes everything will be done before festival. He also stated the Boy Scouts were interested in fixing some of the facilities down there. He said they would maybe paint and do some wood work. They are supposed to give Mayor Lumkins a proposal, but he still has not seen anything from them. Mayor Lumkins also stated that there was a dead tree removed by the company that removed all the trees in the neighborhood. He suggested everyone drives by there as it looks very nice.

Also at Memorial Park the cedar blocks have been dropped off and the reason the pavement is not done is because Mayor Lumkins is waiting until everything gets delivered.

Festival

Mayor Lumkins stated he was not going to be there for the start of it, but he would be there for the end. Trustee Mahoney stated he would be there for the parade and be at the Village right after to help set up the food. Trustee Mahoney asked if Kenny would be there to set up and Mayor Lumpkins stated yes he would be bringing all his stuff just like last year. Mayor Lumpkins told everyone that Miller Lite was the product this year along with Coors Lite and Blue Moon.

CORRESPONANCE

Clerk Carrillo stated there was nothing to report.
