Eureka Division Cross Country Championships - Friday 19th May, 2017

Venue - Victoria Park, Ballarat

  1. This is a Division Championship and entry to this event can only come via Districts. The number that can be entered per event from each District based on overall student numbers is as set out below. ## No individual school entries will be accepted.

2. Competitors are required to be present at least 30 minutes prior to their event, it is possible for events to start slightly earlier than the times indicated below, event convenors are will not hold responsibility for any students who are not at their event on time. It is up to schools and families to ensure students are at the start line ready to go when their event is called.

4. EVENT SCHEDULE

Event 712:30pm10 year and under boys & Disability boys 2KM

Event 812:50pm10 year and under girls & Disability girls 2KM

Event 91:10pm11 year boys 3KM

Event 101:30pm11 year girls 3KM

Event 111:50pm12 year boys 3KM

Event 122:10pm12 year girls 3KM

5. Ages are calculated as at 31 December 2017. ie... Whatever age a child turns during 2017 is the age group a child is in. If a child turns 10 in any month from January through December in 2017, then they are in the 10-year age group.

***Be clear on this point, as any child in the wrong age group has to be disqualified.

6. The course includes a variety of surfaces and is basically flat. The 10-year age group will do one circuit and the 11/12+ age groups will do two circuits. (The second lap is reduced.)

7. It is expected that all competitors are accustomed to the above distances and that parental consent has been given for all children to take part in the above events. Qualifying Times 10 year 9 minutes

11& 12+ years14 minutes

8. From this event,12 children from each divisionwill be selected for the Regional Championships to be held in Warrnambool on Monday 5th June 2017. The selected children will receive an information pack.

  1. Only children attending schools that have affiliated with both SSV and the Greater Western Region are eligible to compete.
  1. The weather can be cold, wet and/or windy at this time of year therefore participating children should have dry, warm clothes to change into immediately after their events.
  1. MARHSALLS AND OFFICIALS
    Course Marshalls willbe provided.
    Please note in 2017, if District Coordinators are able to attend to act as an official it would be greatly appreciated however it is NOT A REQUIREMENT. Please contact Mitch Gray prior to the day if you are available to attend.

All of Victoria Park will be closed to through traffic to ensure the safety of competitors.

PLEASE NOTE PARKING WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE INSIDE VICTORIA PARK. PARENTS/ BUSSES ARE ASKED TO PARK OUTSIDE THE VENUE.
