Packaging Engineer and Supply Chain Leader: Responsible for analysis and implementation of improved logistics for inbound products for 7 manufacturing plants in Mexico and US. Analysis and design of packaging of components shipped by suppliers, as well as work with supplier toward improvements through redesign and testing which results in price reduction and logistics improvement. Work with new suppliers to define packaging required by manufacturing facilities depending on production line needs. Work with production scheduling to define inventory levels based on manufacturing facilities requirements. Lead extensive cost savings projects in logistics and packaging that resulted in significant savings for the manufacturing plants. Lead projects to implement vendor management inventory warehouse for use of four manufacturing plants, as well as setting up logistics to cover manufacturing requirements. Improvement of inbound logistics via value stream maps that allow a clear visibility of material transit with important cost savings in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
