VICENZAORO SEPTEMBER 2017 TO OPEN ON SATURDAY WITH UNDERSECRETARY SCALFAROTTO: 1,300 BRANDS FROM 36 COUNTRIES

“Green Jewellery” the topic of the International jewellery Exhibition to be held at the Vicenza fair grounds from 23 to 27 September, organised by Italian Group Exhibition

and today at the Jewellery Museum the winners of the Next Jeneration Jewellery Talent Contest

Vicenza, 22 September 2017 – Sustainability will be the main topic of the VICENZAORO September 2017 edition, the International Jewellery Exhibition organized by Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), a company formed by the integration between Rimini Fiera and Fiera di Vicenza, which will be opening at the Vicenza fair grounds on Saturday, 23 September. The common thread of the event, scheduled until Wednesday, 27 September, will be “Green Jewellery”, social responsibility and sourcing policies of all the materials used in the global goldsmith and jewellery industry sector.

With support from ICE (Agency for the foreign promotion and internationalization of Italian companies), 500 selected and profiled buyers of the main markets will be hosted, including a delegation of 150 Italian retailers organized by Federpreziosi, Italian National Federation of goldsmiths, jewellers, silverware enterprises, and watchmakers. In addition, over 800 Gold Buyers, chosen from among the top players of the European and international markets, will benefit from exclusive services dedicated to them during the event.

THIS EVENING, PRELUDE AT THE JEWELLERY MUSEUM

Today at 18.00, there will be the prelude to the event at the Jewellery Museum in Vicenza, where the creativity of the younger generation, called to express themselves on “Jewel and Function”, will be the focus of the awards ceremony of the sixth edition of Next Jeneration Jewellery Talent Contest. On this occasion, an Exhibition will be opened to showcase the creations of the 22 contest finalists, produced by Italian jewellery companies, including some exhibitors of VICENZAORO. The contest, sponsored by IEG in cooperation with the School of Design of the Politecnico di Milano, is an indispensable scouting tool of new creative minds in the international goldsmith scenario.

OPENING CONFERENCE AND CSR

Green Jewellery will be at the centre of the opening conference of VICENZAORO September on Saturday, 23 September (11.00 am, Convention Centre of Fiera di Vicenza), which will see the participation of Ivan Scalfarotto, Undersecretary to the Ministry of Economic Development, Michele Scannavini, President of ICE, Gaetano Cavalieri, President of CBJO, Licia Mattioli, Deputy President of Confindustria for internationalization, Ivana Ciabatti, President of Confindustria Federorafi, and the senior management of IEG, i.e. Chairman Lorenzo Cagnoni, Executive Deputy Chairman Matteo Marzotto, and General Manager Corrado Facco.

IEG has thus renewed its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, in support of traceability, fair trade, environmental protection, protection of the rights and duties concerning work and health. With support from CIBJO (World Jewellery Confederation), IEG has received the accreditation to the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC) for the promotion and implementation of CSR in the supply chain of jewellery and precious items.

Sunday, 24 September (from 10.30 to 13.00 in the Conference Room, Hall 8.0), there will be a conference on the impact of the new EU legislation concerning Mineral Conflicts on the jewellery industry and on the strategies to be implemented in order to effectively respond to demands, organized by CIBJO (World Jewellery Confederation) in cooperation with IEG.

THE EXHIBITION

At VICENZAORO September 2017, 1,300 brands from 36 countries and the main Italian goldsmith districts will be hosted in five districts of the VICENZAORO exhibition format The Boutique ShowTM (Icon, Look, Creation, Expression, and Essence). Thousands of buyers, opinion leaders and trend setters from the main reference markets are expected.

After the success of 2016 and the preview last January, N.O.W. Not Ordinary Watches, the capsule collection at Pavilion 7 dedicated to 12 selected brands of the world of Independent Watches, will return to the ICON District.

Technology and Innovation will be the protagonists of the area S.E.T. Small Equipment & Tools, at Pavilion 2.2, a project dedicated to companies producing small machinery, tools and 3D printers, software and small equipment, which meets the demand of manufacturers and of the retail world.

THE EVENTS

A varied agenda in the new VO Square, a space dedicated to conferences, talks and meetings with international experts and opinion leaders. Current issues concerning the goldsmith and jewellery industry sector will be discussed here in all their aspects, in a user-friendly and immediate format.

Trends will be the key players at TRENDVISION Jewellery + Forecasting, an independent forecasting agency for the goldsmith and jewellery industry sector, which will launch the new exclusive TRENDBOOK 2019+. The publication, an inspirational and indispensable work tool for any producers and designers who want to be updated on consumer habits and anticipate market trends, will be presented on Saturday, 23 September during a dedicated workshop held by Paola De Luca, Forecaster and Creative Director of TRENDVISION.

Always on Saturday 23 September, the Exhibition Bookrah (Hall 6 - VO Square), will be presented, a project led by IEG and promoted by UNIDO within the project Creative Lebanon. Following the Syrian crisis, which negatively impacted the traditional market channels for jewellers in Lebanon, the project aims to support local producers to strengthen their creativity through the development of a new collection: Bookrah, presented exclusively at VICENZAORO September 2017.
