Within the context of LSC policies and procedures, Medicaid standards, governmental contracts, state and federal guidelines, Rapid Resource for Families (RRFF), and program service manual procedures, the IAFT (Intensive Alternative Family Treatment) Director is responsible for providing the overall management of the statewide IAFT team.

The IAFT Director provides clinical guidance and supervision to the IAFT team. The IAFT Director has primary responsibility for the team operations, which includes fiscal management (budget management), performance/personnel management, clinical oversight (team audits and reviews), recruitment and licensing for IAFT parents, marketing, establishing and maintaining community referral sources and contract management. The IAFT Director is responsible for community relations and promoting Lutheran Services Carolinas within the child welfare and mental health community.

1.  Follow all policies and procedures established by Lutheran Services Carolinas.

2.  Provide leadership and support for the IAFT teams to ensure all the elements of IAFT are being met.

3.  Oversight of goals for recruiting and licensing IAFT parents (includes assessment, training, and licensing of IAFT homes according to established agency policy, accreditation standards and state licensing rules).

4.  Ensure all required authorization and placement paperwork is obtained within appropriate timeframes and provide database oversight.

5.  Monitor and audit treatment documentation regularly to ensure records meet program standards and are completed within the established timelines. Oversee Plan of Corrections and respond in a timely manner to RRFF requests. Provide quarterly utilization reports and projections to RRFF as required.

6.  Establish and maintain relationships with comparable Human Services agencies, State/County government agencies, congregations and communities and be the liaison between LSC and RRFF.

7.  Participate in agency Quality Management activities related to the IAFT program and support data collection for agency outcome reporting.

8.  Evaluate program and budgetary compliance and effectiveness; recommend corrective actions as necessary. Provide budgetary training and education to staff.

9.  Oversee the establishment and maintenance of community linkages to ensure and array of services needed for the IAFT client population and promote a strong community network for Lutheran Services Carolinas.

10.  Oversee the formulation of new and/or revised necessary amendments to service manuals for IAFT in conjunction with Quality Management.

11.  Serve on committees and complete special projects as assigned.

12.  Other job duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education: Master’s Degree required in a related human services field, and licensure (LPC, LCSW or equivalent) is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 4 years related foster care/social work/human services/mental health and administrative experience preferred; supervisory experience is required.

Specific skills/abilities: Awareness and sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics is required. Possess clinical knowledge with a variety of populations including family systems, child and adolescent mental health, and child welfare. Ability to analyze and interpret data. Ability to mediate and resolve management team issues, demonstrate flexibility, be self motivated, and have the ability to work independently.

Specialized knowledge, licenses, etc: LCSW or LPC or equivalent preferred. Valid Drivers License, Car Insurance and Car Registration; extensive travel is necessary to provide leadership and supervision wherever the service or services are being delivered.
